You cant tell me you couldn't see Mahomes in the second half with a two score advantage for nearly the entire 2 quarters of play, taking care of the ball? Playing not to turn it over, not putting the ball in harms way? In other words The Chiefs weren't playing to win, they did that in the first half. In the 2nd half they were playing not to lose. Totally different things. The Ravens defense was made to look better by the style of play Mahomes was playing. He proved that with the amazing throw to MVS. When he needed to put the game away he did, at will. The Ravens defense was powerless to stop it.

@StEvEn-dp1ri

@@truthh8322 But that's my point. Mahomes was the one making the choices on the field of play, but the play-calling changed from calling plays to win, which they did in the first half, to calling plays to protect the ball and not lose. KC doesn't blow teams out because they take their foot off the opponent's throat and put it on their back. It's frustrating as hell for a fan, because every game is close. But it's a brilliant way to make team's underestimate how good you really are. Everyone is acting like it was the Raven's defense that closed them down, but that's not the reality. But I digress.

Not only did that phantom holding call take away a touchdown, Justice Hill tripped Chris Jones in the end zone and the officials didn't call it, wiping out a safety and another Chiefs possession and letting the Ravens continue to drive. At least that one ended in an interception, but if we're talking 26-10 instead of 17-10, that looks a lot more like as thorough a domination as it was.

You said it, and I think it's something people aren't mentioning enough. Seems like Pat's maturing right before our eyes. Pat has had a tendency, when things weren't going well, to try and force a miracle. Since these playoffs have started, there's no more hero ball, trying to force things down field that aren't there. He's taking check downs and throwing the ball out of bounds if nothing's there. THIS, feels like Pat truly entering his prime. Beating defenses with his mind not just pure talent, improvising when needed, not just because.

@@user-cn5mz8ql5f The better the talent of the players, the more inventive he designs his offense. Some of his plays wouldn't work with lesser players, and smart players are always his first choice. Getting his QB into a position to make a throw, flooding one area with pass catchers to suck in the defense, and then changing to a run. It is all part of his overall approach. You can't know what he is going to do, once the other side has figured out one play or another.

Chase, HUGE fan. My old man was a WWII combat veteran (Fightin' 29th Inf, Divi. 3rd wave at Omaha Beach on June 6, '44) at the age of 19. He was wounded and captured a week later just outside St. Lo. I mention that because once liberated in 1945, Uncle Sam wouldn't allow him to stay in the Army. Stationed in Spain with the D.O.D. between 1956-1967, then like a lunatic he volunteered for civilian duty in Vietnam. When? January of 1968, just before the Tet offensive. Fast forward to summer of 1969 when he moved to Richard-Gebaur AFB just south of the KC metro area. Pop LOVED football and he picked RG on purpose. Older sister is a UMSL graduate, I am a UMKC graduate, but all my three younger siblings graduated from Mizzou in Columbia. Dad's LG now (Long Gone (Dupre), look it up - Pop used to use the term all the time!) but man, did he ever love watching college ball. Chase, you will never know how much joy you brought to our clan and my Pop during your heyday at 'Zou. He passed in 2012 and the family has gone to dookie, but man! you are PERFECT for this endeavor! Thanks, Chase. Your in-depth analysis is second to none. It really helps me to understand the intricacies of these plays. The game of football has evolved into the most complicated game ever played and it takes an insider like you explain it all. It's just too bad that the officials cannot be better. I don't know if they make bad calls & non-calls on purpose, or if they just aren't very good at their jobs. The holding call and the tripping non-call you mentioned here are just two examples of how pathetic the refs are. It really is a shame because they are ruining this wonderful game.

Chase keeps saying Kelce ran the wrong route. Chase should know that Mahomes and Kelce are both reading the defense. From that Kelce decides where to go and Mahomes knows where that is. When there is a hot side to the play Kelce is backside or open space outlet when Mahomes is scrambling. There is a greater depth in the QB-TE of Mahomes to Kelce that Chase seems to be missing.

On that one 8-second play that ended with the completion to Kelce, why wouldn't Mahomes take the outlet to CEH in the flat? Meh. Maybe he's not a good bet to reach the sticks in space, with the safety crashing down.

As I kept looking, I noticed that he lines up 1.5 yards off the ball all of the time. I thought that the offensive line had to be within a yard of the ball. Technically, this makes an illegal formation. The tackle on the other side of the line is NOT lined up waaaayyy of the ball.

Patrick and Andy are tge best at throwing a deep ball short and getting the PI call on crucial 3rd downs. . Other teams need to do it more
@muskyoxes
@muskyoxes 6 ай бұрын
Since i hate that play when my team's defending, i don't think that should be allowed. If the defender is simply existing and the receiver runs through him, it's ridiculous to call that defensive PI. It's not the defender's job to sprint away from the action whenever the receiver changes direction

Just like Brady/Belichick. Surprised more teams don’t do this but then again nobody has the adeptness at preparation for the game like Patrick. he’s almost a psycho with it 😅
@muskyoxes
@muskyoxes 6 ай бұрын
@@poindextertunes The defender's job is hard enough without adding clairvoyance - the receiver can break on a short ball when it's barely out of the QB's hand. If one player initiates contact and you call a penalty on the other player for existing in physical reality, you're ruining the game

I think people are under the impression that a human can instantly stop all forward body movement as soon as a running quarterback gives himself up. No. Physics doesn't stop working just because you want to call a "late hit"

It seems the Ravens were rattled because the lft safety decisively followes Rice instead of passing him off to the rht safety and Lb and could 've double MVS.

We all see Mahomes plays for Andy Reid. That game was a coaching mismatch with Reid absolutely intimidating and schooling John Harbaugh (his long time Special teams coach who never got promoted out of that spot until the Ravens amazingly handed him the keys to the Ferrari with no experience). The Ravens and Harbaugh will never past get Reid with any other QB let alone Mahomes. If Harbaugh couldn't do it this year with THAT team and defense - forget it. Their problem is at the top.

I completely agree play 15 Mahomes gives himself up and the player smacks him on the ground that's personal foul but the according to everybody on the internet the Ravens got no benefit from the no calls😂

Mahomes has been playing like this all year. It just so happens his receivers are finally stepping up. It's a different attitude on the field when you make it into the playoffs with a nearly undefeated quarterback. You don't drop the ball. And that's what they're doing now

Let's also not forget the late season games that we're close or lost Andy Reid was playing around with play calls. Feeling out goofy plays because he had the room to do so. This team plays on an elite level they don't need the spotlight teams like eagles and cowboys take...didn't get them to far

Clowny tried that trip you showed and Chris Jones got tripped in the end zone on a pressure after they pinned the Ravens deep. Clowny went with the crown of the helmet to Mahomes’ face. Then dude punches Mahomes in the face, falls on him and tried to grind an elbow. Pretty much what you would expect from a team that still celebrates a killer. The Ravens are the dirtiest team in the league. Plus they paid their leading rusher like a qb. Trash. HBTC

Absolutely. Harbaugh loves that crap. Andy might make his guy take a lap with the game still going. Then have him turn in his jersey. The League has to respond to obvious unsafe targettings, or so you'd think.
