Had a great time chasing this modified 996 turbo! Considering the power difference I'm surprised how close it was.
BRZ mod list:
- full catless exhaust
- uel tomei header
- blitz intake
- tuned on e85 @ ~200whp, naturally aspirated
- rasty gt 1560mm wing
- verus engineering composite splitter 4" splitter
- 18x9.5 kansei tandems on worn firestone firehawk indy 500, 255/35 square
- airlift suspension
- track alignment
- jackson racing oil cooler
- counterspace garage c2 brake pads, front and rear
- motul rbf 660 brake fluid

Had a 986 boxster now a brz ts and the brz is a trillion times better in every way not even close. These cars are probably the most fun cars ever i really am convinced of that

my gf has a base 986 and they're great cars. I always assumed if it was similarly modified it'd be better than my brz!

Nice job buddy! Who were you at NJMP with? You did that driver a solid favor. Once you were in front he started following your lines, which were a vast improvement over the ones he took when in the lead.

thanks man!! this was with track night in America. yea pretty cool right! I love teaching people how to improve their driving that's what it's all about 👌he did mention checking out my lines plus he said he lowered his pressures too much so they took a while to come up to temp

yea I've been following Kevin Vo's progress w his gr86! ik he got 227 whp out of it but that wasn't fbo which is usually where the big gains are. I'd love to swap one into my car for sure! it's either that or kswap it since they're much lighter while revving higher. all depends on price, power levels, and ease of install

Those tyres probably aren’t as heat tolerant and as that Pascal guy’s thoughts take hold due to higher temps, the higher pressures are helping you to understeer tangentially towards the dirt.

he actually said he was thinking he ran too low pressures and they took a while to come up to temp. I'm on pretty worn street tires so they def don't hold up well to heat on track

this is njmp. they have 2 tracks, thunderbolt and lightning. depending on what part of MD you're in you might want to check out summit point park too

@@nickherbin8094 mainly that I'm on bags instead of coilovers and worn 320tw tires instead of 200tw. could do smaller things like upgrade the diff, sway bars, weight reduction etc

I notice it in long sweepers. the last corner at njmp lightning I can get the car turned in and get on throttle much faster

It's the driver, not the car

That chassis seems to take whatever it is given with only minor understeer. Not sure why but it’s really tolerant and doesn’t get very upset with sharp weight transfers.
