The fishing was a bit tough but had an absolute blast on the Tribute. Fantastic captain and crew, thank you for your hard work and dedication. Highly recommended.
Thank you to everyone I got to meet and fish with. What a blessing to share that experience.

Im very sad i didnt get to meet you before your journey on the tribute. I worked inside the tackle shop but choose to go help my father in michigan for the winter. Maybe 2024 ill get the chance to 🤙 great clip btw , you are always very intuitive and humble. tribute is my FAVORITE boat I’ve had the opportunity to fish on.

I just realized I saw you last Wednesday at Seaforth landing. I took the San Diego for a full day at Coronado, and saw you talking to someone before we left and I heard you say your name was Benjie and I thought to myself "bruh is that Benjie Kim??" Hi Benji, It's Sean Simmons. I was on the recent 2.5 day trip on the Highliner this past weekend. Had lots of fun. I will definitely support your channel. Hope to fish with you again. I will keep you posted on any upcoming trips I go on or get invited to. I'm really into surface iron fishing for yellowtail and calico bass. Do you do that sort of fishing as well? What's up Dane! For sure man I'm not sure if I'm gonna set one up this year, if I do it'll probably be in October. But if/when I do, would love to have you there! We enjoyed it as sashimi, sushi, and tuna for my family. We were very grateful and hoping for one more chance to enjoy fresh tuna!

So happy for you Benjie! Nice Yellowfin. You were wondering about you drag. To eliminate any doubt I bought a 50lb drag scale at Charkbait. Just set the scale to 33% of your lightest line (or a little less) and you are set. Hope to see you out there soon. 😊

Nice vid. Short & sweet. I don't want to come across as that guy but you made me anxious pushing your drag WAY past strike on that sinker rig hook-up 😬

haha thanks Tyler, no worries man, I appreciate the feedback. I'm still learning and need to learn to ask for more help before I start fishing lol. My drag was probably set at where it should've been at for halfway to strike. Or maybe 3/4. So I was ok with that little schoolie but I would've been in trouble if it was something decent. I really appreciate it, now it's stuck in my brain so I'll def make the adjustment next trip. Tight lines!

Tuna fishing is so hard to predict. This trip certainly wasn't bad but it def wasn't wide open. We had to work hard and there were a fair share of skunks on the boat. It was one of those trips where the guys who had experience were getting bit pretty decent. The previous 3 days in a row, the boat we were on had boat limits of tuna. We weren't even close for our trip, though we did get a decent number of yellowfin. Tight lines on your trip, cross your fingers and hope they're biting!!!

Oh dang exciting!! Tight lines out there and hopefully it'll be BETTER than this trip. We had to grind pretty hard and it was one of those trips where the experienced guys were getting bit but everyone else was struggling. I was lucky to get one on deck. I need the fishing to be stupid easy lol. I hope that's what it is for you!!

It was a 1.5 from 7/16 to 7/18. So 7/17 was the daytime fishing where the captain found the yellowfin.

@@BenjieKimFishing you’d be surprised tuna are pretty solid. The schoolies we had at 20lbs were a little less than half that size. Judging how it was pulling drag too. What size hook and line?
