"A convict is "a person found guilty of a crime and sentenced by a court" or "a person serving a sentence in prison". Convicts are often also known as "prisoners" or "inmates" or by the slang term "con", while a common label for former convicts, especially those recently released from prison, is "ex-con" ("ex-convict"). Persons convicted and sentenced to non-custodial sentences tend not to be described as "convicts".
The legal[citation needed] label of "ex-convict" usually has lifelong implications, such as social stigma and/or reduced opportunities for employment. The federal government of Australia, for instance, will not, in general, employ an ex-convict, while some state and territory governments may limit the time for or before which a former convict may be employed." - wikipedia

I don't think that's necessarily true. I think smart people are more likely to be educated. Education doesn't make people smart because intelligence is something you're born with. Stupid people that don't think ahead will do something whether the government gave them $20,000 to go, and fail, out of college or not. You can't educate your way out of violence.

Herc didn't even have to say anything when Andrew said that because it's obvious someone like Andrew isn't cut out for jail and prison. But that's a good thing, he stays out of trouble and is a square white guy-jail and prison is something people should do their best to avoid and stay away from, anyway and Herc always encourages people to stay out of trouble, do something productive and positive with their lives and with their time.

I'd say it's all about how you handle yourself I've been to jail and prison ive done about a year in each and I'd say that you can handle it if you decide to keep to yourself meaning don't get involved and shit you don't need to and don't have a loud mouth things like that because I am a fairly skinny guy and you would think that someone like me would get picked on and beat up in prison but that was not the case. But I was also in a minimum security unit and people claim that our state prison is a cake walk. So basically I suppose I cant speak for the other prisons.

@Brandon Lester I'm not surprised. A lot of people are deluded by talking heads in politics, and reinforced by others who also buy in to the manufactured outrage, which sells (think about news headlines and clickbait). On top of that, they block out people whose views differ from theirs, which distorts their worldview.
