Not only her family there several griot families. More like clans, because they go back 700+ years and are spread out all over West Africa. I think its Jobarteh(Diabate), Suso, Kouyate, Sissoko, and Camara.

Sona is absolutely wonderful and a real states-woman and role model for the culture she represents. As a non-African guy, i find it absolutely amazing and inspiring. But those tv hosts are like teen girls and totally detract from the whole vibe.
