As I have said before... You should NEVER seal a container filled with dry ice. When the dry ice sublimates (or as you refer to it, vaporizes) it expands to many times its original size. If you seal of the container, pressure will build up until the container rips open. This can be very violent. This is the basic principle of making a dry ice bomb. My suggestion is that you never completely seal of the container, but rather close the lid gently letting the extra pressure escape. DANGEROUS ADVICE

Pretty good stuff. Next time do not put the zapping effect on your videos. Annoyed to the point of ignoring your pitch.

That 'gear heads' transition is truly horrible. Cool fogger though...

You get low lying fog from the mixture of hot water and dry ice.

After using this machine on low for about 20 seconds, the red light came back on. Is this normal?

I understand the results are pretty instant... but isn't that a lot of hassle for 6 minutes?

how long does the cloud last or linger after the nimbus is done and reheating?
@CHAUVETDJ
@CHAUVETDJ 7 жыл бұрын
How long it lingers will depend on air movement in the room and how low the humidity level is in the room. For example the cloud will last longer than in Las Vegas. A full shot from the Nimbus will last about 6 minutes, from there it is all about the atmosphere in the room.

Any sort of ball park estimate would be very helpful in the linger time. 10 minutes, 15, etc. If I was to go to a bride and say I'll keep a cloud on the floor for 3 hours at your reception for $300, I need to know if I have to come up with an alternative during the "downtime" of the nimbus.

This will depend entirely upon the environment around you. this is not really an all night effect. Most people will charge a flat amount per shot. The amount you can get per shot will depend on how available that effect is in your area. I would suggest you sell the effect as a one song effect rather than a 3 hour effect. Even if you had multiple units running to keep the effect going for 3 hours would require a large amount of dry ice, and probably a couple of water fills on the machine. Nitrogen system would be suited to run for long periods of time, but who has the money (or client) who can afford that effect. When the Nimbus first came out I was getting $500 per shot (6 minutes), I sold it as primarily is the first dance at weddings, the dancing on a cloud effect. Now that many people own them in my area it is down to $250 per shot. Still $250 for 6 minutes and less than $30 of consumables. That $30 of dry ice will perform more than 1 shot, but its up to you to give it away and use the effect later in the night, or charge for 2 shots. If you keep the unit heating on two circuits you can get 6 minutes of effect about every 20 minutes. If only using one circuit it will be closer to an hour to reheat. The effect is actually a cloud so it will be absorbed back into the atmosphere fairly quick. I hope this helps.

Nice effect. Good stuff. Loose the "gear head" transition in the video. Very annoying and cheapens the video, product and company. Other than that...very nice!
