Two things you need to do with a video like this, that you didn't do. 1. Get rid of the background music. 2. Run the machine for a bit at full. That way we can see the output and hear how loud it is. This also means no one talks during that portion of the video. If I'm going to order online, my comfort level with the purchase would be much higher, if I could see the output and hear the noise level in the video.

I would like to see this machine.. with people dancing in it I want to see how the smoke moves around when people are dancing basically in action and what's the difference from this machine to a nimbus

Is there any kind of remote control that can be used with this unit besides dmx? Wired or wireless, just want to make sure it can be controlled remotely.

When I start the machine the fog goes nice and low. but as soon as u start walking or dancing on it ( creating some wind ) the fog goes up high, and wont go to the ground again . Can u tell me how to fix that would apreciate it . Best regards

Jett Burmester It works really simple: The Fog Cloud was blowing into a Chamber with cracked Water. The Water Drops of the cracked Water and the Fog Particles "glue" together and now the Fog ist heavier than the Air, because the "glued" Water on IT IS heavier than Air. That's it.

I just received my Cumulus and it came with a fixed power cord. How come this one has the powercon connection which I would've preferred?

Originally, this product had a fixed power chord. After it was released we received feedback from our customers and made the change to the powercon connection.

Does it smell? Is the fluid water based? Can it really replace the nimbus?

Since the machine uses fog fluid, it will smell.

...are you sure you want to run a pump “dry”?.. most pumps I have used, that’s not such a good idea.. could shorten a pumps life..

You are correct, normally you do not want to run a pump dry. In this case it is more for demonstration purposes. You could place a gallon of water in the unit and then turn it on. The main thing is to let the pump move the water to the rear chamber before completely filling it. This will insure you get the maximum amount of water into the unit during the fill stage.

It would have been nice to actually see the results for this product rather than just how to set it up. Chauvet should release a video of this product used in a wedding, theatre, and dance setting. This video was a big disappointment.

@chauvetDJ The video you posted a link to doesn't show enough of the effect that the cumulus makes. My understanding is that even with a low lying fog machine, the fog eventually rises. Looks like in your video that the showroom is already fogged up. Is that due to the cumulus? I would like to see a video of the cumulus effect & waiting a few minutes to see if the fog eventually rises.

It's okay, I have looked at the video you linked. But for a $1,300 machine, I would like to see a longer video of it operating continuously and how the fog reacts when people move threw it. Furthermore, it would be beneficial to see what different fog fluids look like using the machine and the different effects the fluids create.

I recently purchased one of these. It came with no instructions and the one I was able find online truly sucks. How can a major company drop the ball like this. There are 2 valves on the bottom rear of this unit. I can see how one would be to drain out the distilled water, but what is the other one for. There was also a clear plastic tube included that looks like it can connect to another rear connector port in the back but I have no idea why.

Sorry for the inconvenience. The 2 valves on the rear are drains for the 2 tanks. 1 is for your fog fluid tank, the other is for your distilled water tank. As far as the plastic tube, on the rear left there is a tank overflow hole for this. If you have any concerns about this, please contact our customer service team at chauvetcs@chauvetlighting.com Your unit should be covered under warranty.

Does not look like a cloud effect as the Nimbus does. Also most people say the enclosed manual is very poorly written, not enough details on how to operate. Lastly this video is poorly conducted., the video was about how to setup, not about how it works.
