The ADJ Entour Chill is a high-output, continuous low-lying fog machine, which uses standard water-based fog juice and ice cubes to generate an effect similar to that of dry ice. Housed in a rugged, plastic case, the Entour Chill is ideal for use on theatrical productions and concert tours as well as by mobile entertainers and event companies. This product review highlights the key features and shows the low-lying fog effect with both regular and dry ice.
Note:
*Should NOT be compared to a Nimbus or Entour Chill.
*Always check with your venue before using this unit around fire systems.
*Results will vary depending on environmental factors.
*Can be used with regular or dry ice
American DJ Entour Chill Fog Machine Features:
New Heater system for a continuous output with no additional warm-up time.
Uses standard water-based fog juice and ice cubes.
Continuous output (run-up to one hour).
New sophisticated electronic temperature control: heats up in 3 minutes and stays heated.
LED heating indicator system in the tank

Thanks for this fantastic video review. This video lead to a quick purchase for me, and hopefully, with all the purchases you probably inspired, that something good came out of it for you. It’s clear cut, honest, thorough, and informative, and if the official ADJ Entour Chill video was discouraging, your review was the exact opposite. Despite receiving a review unit, you disclosed everything and made a very fair and clear statement of use for the product at the end. This is more for a wedding of roughly 100 or so people, or less, with a small to medium sized dance floor. For me, my goal has been being able to do everything on my own if needed, especially after being hit by a car while walking 4 1/2 years ago. It’s why reducing weight and set up time is important for me. The Entour Ice is superb, but it’s not very portable for one person to use. The Entourage Chill however, has a low bar of entry, and with that, it exceeded my expectations. Since my general goal was to be able to travel with everything in my SUV, for single venues, my set up times are 10 mins. For weddings however, my set up is longer, essentially including an EV Evolve 50, an Evolve 50m, a Numark NV2, a PV AT10 BT live sound mixer, 2 Vevor 500 watt Cold Spark Machines, a 4 (or 6 panel backlit Dj facade), 2 ADJ Pocket Pro Pearls, 2 Totem stands for the Pocket Pros with 2 Wireless par lights to uplight them, and a Mega Bar for the facade lighting. The good thing is that my wedding set up times are 40 mins with all of this equipment. If sound reinforcement is needed, I have 1 or 2 EV ELX200 18SP subs. 2 subs requires someone to help me bring one there, but without it, the Entour Chill fits nicely in my medium size SUV. The unit works well with dry ice, as you clearly illustrated, and in most cases, the couple’s dance is about 3-4 mins, and it fills an average size dance floor well, or, the main area around the couple. It’s continuous time is helpful because it can be run during entrances to slowly fill the area before the wedding couple comes in.

Dj Nel EPM thanks for stopping by the channel and checking this out. The unit works well, but I don’t consider it a replacement for the Entour Ice or Nimbus. If you need something in a pinch and use it with dry ice it could work, but definitely check with your venues first. It’s a fog machine and it can disrupt fire alarms. Hope you’re doing great! Thank you Rachel! You probably saved me around $1000! For the past few years I've been using the ADJ Mister Kool II on Halloween for our outdoor, scary themed front yard. It has worked okay, but my biggest issue was that it didn't run long enough to cover the area in the way that I wanted. I have had my eye on the Chauvet DJ Nimbus and recently started looking at the Entour Ice. I'm not sure what the continuous time is on the Entour Ice, but the Nimbus is only 6 minutes! I was blown away to learn that the the Entour Chill has up to a whole hour of continuous output! Thanks to your video, I've already decided that this is what I will be getting to supplement what my ADJ II is doing. I could actually buy that plus a couple of smaller units to connect to some Halloween props and still be under the price tag of one of those higher end professional units. Thank you so much for the video. It was very informative. Great job!

Hi Jeff! Happy to help! Thanks for checking this out. This is a MAJOR upgrade from the Mister Kool II and does have a an amazing output. If you are trying to do any type of “dancing on the clouds” I would recommend getting the Nimbus or Entour Ice. They are designed for that application where this is still just a fog machine. However, if you’re only looking for a amazing machine for the creepy graveyard or scary Halloween fog look this will knock it out of the park for you. It’s PERFECT for that application. Rachel Great job of scientifically evaluating the unit. It was nice that you controlled for atmospheric conditions and had a control (dry ice) vs. experimental (regular ice). It would also have been nice if you had turned on the HVAC to see if the unit could keep up with fog against those conditions. In most places I have DJed I don't have the ability to control the HVAC. @DJRachelLynch
@DJRachelLynch 2 жыл бұрын
I would not recommend using this device outside of manufacturer recommendations. This is designed to be used with low lying fog or regular fog juice. This is not a NIMBUS and should not be used as a NIMBUS so I can’t see the need to put water in the unit. 🙂 You can use regular or dry ice. Dry ice will give you a better result. Without ice, it’s just a regular fog machine.
@vinceroadie1982
@vinceroadie1982 2 жыл бұрын
I think where these machines fault, is the fluid! When Antari first released the 'ICE' fogger, many years ago they developed a perfect fluid, which was super super dense, but as soon as it reached shin height it completely dissapeared, without causing a foggy room, it trully worked perfectly. But they stopped making the 'DNG' fluid. All fluid thats been manufactured in recent times, just doesnt have the same properties, which is what spoils the effect these machines create. Good review though!

One question, do you have to remove/drain the fog fluid? Or you can leave it there? Excellent review!
@DJRachelLynch
@DJRachelLynch Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I drain it if I’m leaving it for long periods of time. Keep in mind this is a fog machine. This should not be use to replace a dry ice machine. If you’re looking for a great fog machine this is it ,but if you want it for dancing on the clouds, I don’t recommend it. Fog will always rise.
@sonidosoundwaves

@@DJRachelLynch my option with this fogger should be to used dry ice l guess to keep it low
@DJRachelLynch
@DJRachelLynch Жыл бұрын
Let me rephrase… I have EXTENSIVELY tested this and this is NOT a replacement for a NIMBUS or ENTOUR ICE. The issue is fog machines and dry ice machines are not the same technology. That’s reflected in the pricing. That’s why one is $1,000+ and the other is $400. While low lying fog will give you a similar look temporarily, fog will always act like fog. Once it warms it will begin to rise which will eventually give you a “creepy grave yard” look rather than a low lying airy cloud. Dry ice machines use solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) to create a low-lying fog effect. The dry ice is placed in a container with hot water, which causes the dry ice to sublimate and create a fog that stays close to the ground. Fog machines, on the other hand, use a liquid fog solution that is heated and then expelled through a nozzle to create a fog effect. The ice can keep it low for a bit, but like I said when it warms it will act like a normal fog machine which can also set off fire alarms. If you’re charging appropriately for “dancing on the clouds” this is not a suitable option. Right tool for the right job, always.

@@FranciscoLopez-jp5ng I would never take this to a wedding and use it for dancing on the clouds, so I am not able to do that for you unfortunately. 🙂 That’s is the point of the video. This $400 machine can not be expected to replace a $1,000 NIMBUS. I’m a firm believer in using the right tool for the right job. A fog machine (like this) will always act like fog. As the fog warms it will begin to rise unlike the NIMBUS. The amount of people in attendance has nothing to do with the performance of this machine. Again, if you take the time to watch the video you’ll see what I’m talking about and why I don’t recommend this for dancing on the clouds. Um your inside like if you going to test a fog machine go outside and let some air and heat in
@DJRachelLynch
@DJRachelLynch 3 жыл бұрын
This comment doesn't really make much sense to me. Of course, I tested this inside. Most mobile DJs are doing INSIDE events with atmospheric lighting. The same goes for theatre, dance companies, and others who may be looking to use a fog machine to create an atmosphere. These are meant to be used inside....so I tested it as such. Why would I need to let heat in? This test was done in the middle of summer and the space I was using was LITERALLY 80 degrees. You can see the room temp clearly marked in the video text. How much hotter did you want it? LOL Of course room temperature and humidity affect the look of the fog, but there is no way I can emulate every type of environment. People can do some testing on their own. It was important to show this fog machine in an environment with NO AIR current so people could see the total output without it being disturbed or dissipated by fans and HVAC. They can test it outside if they want to. Any fog machine used outside will IMMEDIATELY get lost with wind current. Beyond using this for a creepy graveyard effect, it is pointless to use any fog machine outside.
