In this video, I show how I built my night time light setup for fishing. This setup is bright, cheap, easy, compact, and helps to minimize the number of bugs in your face.

I was wondering , I do a lot of bank fishing and want to make this setup , do you think that battery would last around 7-8 hours continually running?

Hey man there’s a reason patrol cars have the red light switch in the unit. The red light actually helps you retain your natural night vision(also helps you see in the car but doesn’t let others see YOU in the car lol but we talking about fishing here) so if red light works the best to keep the bugs off then that’s kind of a good thing if you have decent night vision. Plus it turns a hot & sweaty night into a romantic hot and sweaty night 👌 😂😂 jk but yea red light helps you maintain night vision!

What part of the academy store did you get the extension pole?I can't find them online or in the local store.

Ok thanks. Do you have any video of you actually using the lights fishing? I'm wanting to set up for bass fishing and not sure ifva want flood lights or spot lights. Thanks for the reply about the pole.

Richard Lowe yep, if you go to my channel and watch either the fishing in heavy current or my girl catches a big cat on a bass rod video, I use the lights in both. There could certainly be better options out there. I did this video just to give people some ideas.

I mounted a vertical fishing rod holder to the sides of my boat and it sits down in it. Keeps them nice and up right!

Could you link your battery on Amazon or just detail your battery? I honestly thought I was gonna have to buy an expensive heavy battery to run my lights. I like your idea. Any mods you’ve made up to now? Thanks much.

How long could you run this setup before it killed a average deep cycle batter?

No clue but I can run it for several hours with the atv battery I used.

I put mine in the vertical rod holders in my center console. I also wrap a bungee cord around my console had bar to keep it a bit more steady.

What’s the run time on that battery?

I've used it for days without charging. I don't know exactly what the run time is because I typically charge it after a few trips. There are several battery options available if this one doesn't work for you. I went with the cheapest one I could find.
