Been brought to my attention there are 2 systems of EID chips inside sheep tags , also the pet chip scanner I have will only do the FDX system and not the HDX system, im sorry for anyone who has failed to get it working

We have just tried one of these on Shearwell eid tag and it won't read it.

Im sorry for that , looked now and under the scanner it says this - The Halo scanner will read all FDX-B (15 digit) microchips and FDX-A (10 digit) microchips

Ive googled it and Allflex have up "HDX tags are high-performance tags that use Half Duplex technology while FDX tags are Standard tags that use Full Duplex technology. Both HDX and FDX follow the ISO standard and can be read by the same EID readers."

@@ashleytamber8277 tbh i don't know sorry , all it says is they are "Qwik EID tags" , probably the cheapest type anyway 🤣

@@ashleytamber8277 basically anything you keep or sell as breeding, etc needs 2 matching number tags and they have both the holding number and a seperate smaller individual number printed on them that is also inside the chip so you dont have to go into the EID system you can just write them down
