Staying at a capsule hotel (カプセルホテル) is the best option for traveling cheaply in Japan (日本で安く旅行). This time, I stayed at the “ninehours Hakata Station (9h ナインアワーズ博多駅に宿泊)” in Fukuoka Prefecture (福岡県). The “ninehours” is one of the most popular capsule hotel group in Japan that has many branched around Japan, such as Tokyo, Nagoya, Sendai etc (東京 名古屋 仙台). The pod design is futuristic, like a spaceship, and the guest room area, toilets, shower rooms, and lounge are very clean. If you want to stay here when you travel to Japan in the future, I recommend booking on the official website that guarantees the lowest price. Solo Travel Vlog English Subtitles
☆★☆This is what it was actually like!☆★☆
--Nine Hours Hakata--
* The automatic check-in machine was difficult to use.
* Many people ended up calling staff, resulting in manual check-in.
* When you request a receipt, you will be given a small handwritten card that seems to say goodbye to digitization.
* The rooms, toilets and shower rooms in the hotel are very well cleaned.
* The capsule numbers on the floor in the guest room area were bald in places.
* The lounge was so quiet and relaxing.
* Someone had set the alarm at 4:00 am and I was woken up.
A challenge to visit every country in the world... "Japan" is the "1st" country that I visited out of all the 196 counties in the world.
☆How to get to this place☆

I’d love one of these at the airport so you could rent a room for overnight delays or even just long layovers. You get a touch of privacy and a place to lie down.

We have them in major airports. Well something similar at least. They’re little roughly 10ft x 10ft rooms with a small bed and tv. You can rent them by the hour or in 8 hour increments. I had an overnight layover due to an evening flight cancellation at DFW and rented one for 8 hours. It was nice to sleep in the airport and wake up the next morning, walk out of my little room, go grab some breakfast and walk to the gate.

It's a room based off of need. You would need to stay here quickly... It's not meant for you to be a pretty little Bich inside and act like you need 30k square feet just to sleep. Who gives a damn about an MRI,??? Keep yo sick ass outta the hospital.

First thing I thought of was that it looked like a MRI chamber! I was in one of the first ones and it was really loud and I remember thinking about larger people because I was skinny then! Later I was in an open MRI and I hated it because they strapped me down. Would rather be in the enclosed one

Huge difference between US and Japan being raised with respect and manners. They keep it very clean as a service and users respect the space and leave it almost as clean as they found it. Something as simple as removing shoes is just what you do with no thoughts about it. Here in the US we can't have nice things like these because disrespectful lil A-holes trash everything just for kicks.

I think Japanese are the most civilised people in the world, really amazing world they create, if only they had personal space too I'd be there, but they sooo don't, I need my personal space!

Cool option and thanks for all the details. Personally, I want my own washroom in my room. No concern with public showers, but I do like to be able to stand up in my bedroom. Thank you for taking the time to film, edit, add English subtitles, and share with us.

i stayed in a capsule hostel in tokyo (khaosan tokyo ninja) and it wasnt very quiet during the day lol, not that it bothered me. It was a hostel though and not a hotel, so it was mostly other foreigners on vacation. Was a really fun experience, even met someone staying at the hostel that lived about an hour from where I live in the states.

@@Dempig i have hyperacusis, so would be such a treat to be somewhere as quiet as this, though I know is mostly a pipedream xD. that sounds like you had a great time though! somehow no matter how far we go from home, we always run into someone from close by. its a cliche, but certainly is a small world.

@@Icetea-2000 I mean it is true though, people are MUCH more respectful in Japan than America (in public). Even people working the crappiest low paying jobs will greet you with a smile and take very good care of you. In America people act like YOU are RUINING their day by being a customer.

During a group trip 30 years ago, half the group slept in a capsule hotel (only half, because it was male only); except for the capsules, it was quite different, with traditional japanese bath (one complete floor), real restaurant (one complete floor), tv rooms and small tv inside the capsules (no smartphones and internet at that time).
