Lol ,this reminded me so much of my son at around 15 ,when his go to hot snack was either some god awful micro burger or a pack of super noodles .I think these could really only appeal to teenage boys who don't want to leave their Xbox for more than 10 mins at a time .They probably go well with a large bag of crisps and some overly sweet energy drink ,lol. You're a braver man than me .

Great video! Got some of those rustlers breakfast muffins and have a similar meat in. They're ok and hot but was just thinking a more nutritious sandwich and cheap too would be peanut butter in a roll. Full of protein and fibre.

In the contents, it says Chicken MRM. MRM is mechanically recovered meat. It involves grinding up the carcasses of chickens (or other animals) to produce a slurry and then forcing it through filters to produce what is sometimes called "white slime". This gunk is what is used to make hot dogs. That's why they have that peculiar spongey texture and why there's no evidence of actual meat in them. It is not what you would usually refer to as meat, as it includes nerves, cartilage, marrow, and other bits and pieces that you wouldn't normally eat. I wouldn't touch one of those things with a bargepole.

I used to work in M@S with a bloke who always ate Rustler microwave cheese burgers every shift.He even smelt like them if you were around him if he broke a sweat.Felt sorry for him tbh and wondered if he ate them when he got home too as he lived on his own

Hi Gareth, the mrm you spoke of on the ingredients list stands for mechanically recovered/reclaimed meat which I believe is a form of meat purée forced through a sieve at high pressure to separate from bones and such like, basically it’s the rubbish left from other kinds of meat processing that’s not much good for anything else, I saw it on a documentary once and it’s like a pink paste and doesn’t look very appealing to be honest, greetings from wales and enjoy your burgers Gareth 😆😆

Reminds me of when I was served a microwave cheeseburger in a cardboard box in the buffet at Birmingham New Street station years and years ago. That was MRM (mechanically recovered meat). Never mind 'Don't reheat'. More like 'Don't eat'.

i did some jacket tatters today with turkey breast steaks and veg, how ever i bought the wrong baked tatters i got the small ones... so i chopped them into quarters fried the open raw sides till they crispy then i dumped em in with turkey in the airfryer, when they came out they perfect, pillowy in middle and crispy on skin, golden brown turkey breast, drizzled a nice stout beer gravy over it job done...

I think i would be tempted to at least put the burger in a pan & dryfry it, to give it a bit of colour, & possibly toast the bun, then add a shedload of salad to it all especially gherkin, so it masks the flavour of the burger.

Listening to the ingredients and how the patty looked I will be avoiding these. The ketchup looked good. 😁

This is another food that’s better grilled. I put burger and rolls under grill, I turn them all at the same time. The rolls are lovely toasted, and it only takes a bit longer to cook.

Recently subscribed and this is the first video I have commented on. Thanks for taking one for the team Gareth sounds awful that burger :( I founder the best cheaper ones are Aldi's I started microwaving those then started warming them through in a Panini Press instead but now we have an Air Fryer so i do the burgers in there and toast the buns light too. They never come out nice in the Micro and to be fair in the Airfryer then only need 5 minutes or so,you could try that but it sounds like the B&M burger is a lost cause :(

I use to buy these cheap meat puddings and they were quite nice and when I looked at the ingredients they were beef ,chicken and pork so you can imagine all the odd bits that were left over were thrown in to these puddings.

Years ago, when hubby was alive. Id have a proper meal cooked, when he got home from work. This burger is similar to what our neighbour used to get. He even had to put it in microwave himself. Thanks to hubby's invitation he started coming to ours for his dinner.

MRM or to use the more well known term MSM ( Mechanically separated meat) the R is recovered which makes it sound even worse! Sodium Caseinate is the protein from milk and is used in some meat products to stop the fat separating to stop shrinkage.

tbh you could easily just get a bunch of burgers do a quick grill and then store in fridge. and make your own to take into work and heat up would taste much better. also ive found though if you have a toaster to toast the buns instead of microwaving them

MRM is mechanically recovered meat, they take chicken carcasses and bones and a machine literally scrapes all the meat, connective tissue and such like, off the bones which is then reformed into the burger, so if you see MRM avoid at all costs

Pretty sure the MRM stands for Mechanically Reclaimed Meat. Which basically means all the unpleasant parts of an animal, squished together, and burger shaped for your convenience.
