Hi Mark. I used to put them on my bmw 118i, the car did roll back a bit on the slope with these tyres on despite hill holding is working. Now I need to change tyres for my 328i. Do you have this issue?

What was your experience like after two years? How is the comfort and noise levels? And can you comment on grip and breaking?

Yep, another good Chinese tyre. Sailun and jylin tyres are on new Volkswagens in Asia so can't be that shit. I drive fast, tow often, and run 5 up alot. Never had a jylin or blacklion fail, I've had pirelli and Michelin shread on the motorway.

Have an Honda CRV MK11 with Michelin Latitude Cross it has really great grip and comfort plus it also that mild All Season aspect to same, 'M+S' for our mild climate here in South west Ireland, great tyre for our secondary roads and rough roads with a good stiff side wall coupled with great comfort, would recommend same as when one thinks it's when the tyres get more that well used it's only then that you would be looking for same to deliver on safety... that's my view on same. It's reckoned that the cheaper tyres loose this ability very quickly compared to Premium tyres.

I'll bet you they're crap, he didnt actually do any valid testing except wear and rolling resistance. I've tried tyres that are bad in the wet, and its NOT fun when you find out in a panic situation. Edit: Just looked at an ACTUAL test. 29% longer breake distance, thats 29%!!! In the wet breaking test. You might have saved a few bucks, but you're gonna ram the dude with good tyres, emergency breaking in front of you.

This is where Michelin and Pirelli come in. They will save your life. So my daily car is Range Rover Sport and I have Gripmax (which is Chinese brand name for the German market), and these tires cost 70% less than Michelin and Pirelli. On my M5 Competition I use Michelin tires, this is where breaking performance comes in, and you don't want to save money here. 95% have normal cars and they should buy Chinese brands like Winrun and Gripmax (which I think is the same company but different branding for different markets)

No they do not but comparing corvetts to chevetts is not a true or useful comparison. This video is about a soft performance tire vs a hard economy/touring tire, if you know anything about tires you know what point I am making.

The hard tires will get warm and softer while driving and have plenty of grip especially for highway use and some spirited driving. Michelin sport cup tires or those like it are extremely soft and are have horrible wear because of it. Those kind of tires are a waste of money unless you have high horsepower or a car going on track. Furthermore many large name brand tires are made overseas and people paying for a name.

@@Thumper68 Cannot just lump all tires into a money category as there are different tires for different jobs. ALL tires get hot then used so not sure the point of that statement. Softer compound tires are made for a few applications, oner is for high horsepower applications, one is for superior handling and the other is because softer tires make less noise, that's why they are on higher end cars. Yes soft tires wear faster, you have to weigh if you want performance or long life. Buying soft compound tires are not at all a waste of money if you benefit from them from a softer, quieter ride or better grip. Also soft compound tires are better for wet traction as some people live where it rains a lot and feel better traction is a good use of money. Buying name brand tires may cost more but those companies have centuries of experience and cannot avoid standing behind their tires. If you buy a Chinese tire can you be sure how well they are made, what their quality standards are or if they will take care of you if they fail?

At a price yes, but now in 2023 Michelin PS4 are 400% more expensive than budget here in UK for 19s on a Model S Performance. I always used Mich but no longer. They also wore out way too fast. For £900 a set I want more than 18k miles (and that was with a rotation). I will keep an eye out for Winrun, thanks.

I have some hifly on the back and bf goodrich on the front of my 1991 nissan maxima and they have both held up really well. I just did a road trip and was going 95mph on the highway and 25mph over a huge mountain with lots of turns. No complaints. Have 2 years on them and they have almost all of their thread. Just bought another set of hiflys at601 for the xterra. They seem to be great especially for the price.

Kenda are OK, double coin and other silly names like double happiness are crap. I had a green tree tyre, popped in 200 miles.

HIFLY HF805 are great and cheap, I use them on all my cars and I drive real fast all the time

Grip isn't important, what matters is how the tires sound :)

A good thing to watch when trying to compare tires before you buy, and as you replace and restrategize, is the treadwear rating, the traction rating, and the Temp rating. info.kaltire.com/utqg-ratings/ Comparing two tires without describing that, is hard to do.

How long did your tyres last ?

Part worn tyres can be lethal if your not a mechanic or have never worked in a tyre shop.. date stamps, cracking, tread, how many repairs etc all need to be taken into account on a part worn.
