Homemade gifts are so much better than store bought, whether it's food or others it just means more that the person giving the gift thought that much of you.

I love this. I made homemade cinnamon Christmas tree ornaments 20 years ago for my sisters as gifts and they loved them. They hung them on the tree every year for a long time and their entire house smelled like cinnamon. Such good times.

your kids are so great. my very old fashioned grandma used to make this play dough for my sister and i when we were little, when we were all done playing, we’d use christmas cookie cutters to make ornaments, just roll it flat, cut the shapes out, remember to make a hole with a toothpick for the string. then just leave them lay out, they harden up solid. sometimes we put dried cloves or star anise seeds on for decorations if she had them. they don’t go bad or grow mold, the ornaments last for years! my mom still has some we made, and i have the ones my daughter made when she was little. 🤍love your channel, thanks!

Another Great tip if you plan ahead is I always grab extra crayola crayons for 25cents a pack at back to school time and playdohs for 50 cents at Easter time and throw them in a closet to use as additions to make goody bags for kids at Christmas.

What wonderful ideas...so many kiddos think that gifts must be electronic and/or expensive. These are interactive and use fine motor skills and are soothing to both smell and touch. These are winners!

Used to make play dough with my kindergarten classes - we used peppermint extract so it would last longer. No sour smell. I bet the spices would do the same thing. They’re going to taste it, regardless! Thank you for sharing 😊

Love this! The possibilities are endless for the last gift too... I am planning to make a "Build your own Christmas tree" kit with green Play-Doh, metallic pipe cleaner for tinsel, and larger sprinkles in shapes for them to decorate their tree, with a white star sprinkle for the top (found the sprinkle shaker at Aldis). A snowman kit, reindeer kit, or a gingerbread house kit would be fun as well. :)

Those containers are perfect, such a sweet idea. I love the no cook playdough recipe with just a cup of hot water, I'd use Kool-Aid to make different scents. I'd add Buttons, beads, feathers, gemstones, cut up straws, those clear bingo tiles, even acorns & twigs from outside, really any small found objects could work, I used to make these with the kids I nannied for. I bet you could also use bolts & screws to make your own Robots :) Love Colins grading systems, 20 out of 20 and 30 out of 30 :)

If you're okay without the smell you just need 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of salt and 1/2 cup of water. The food dye will stain your hands a bit at first though.

My kids were just telling me recently we needed to make some play doh again! The first play doh we ever made was chocolate play doh when my oldest was around 2 or 3ish. Those buckets at dollar tree are PERFECT for play doh! Brilliant idea, they actually have soft dough kits that come in buckets like that one too but I'm not crafty so I would've never thought to use those buckets 😅
