WARNING: There is LOTS of Mud in this Video!
The FTX Mauler (RGT Rock Hammer) has been about for quite sometime, but it's certainly something not to look over! Out the box it proved to be a decent crawler, and in this video we see how well it does in some very thick and sticky Mud! Is this one of the Cheapest RC Mud Trucks you can buy?

Had one of these for 5 years TOMMO. Conformal coated the esc .Never had a problem since. If you want to crawl with it, 4 wheel steer is a must. The difference is awesome.

I love mud. Tomley make a video that shows how to clean your rc car after mud. That's the only think that stops me of driving in the mud 😁

Great video, I ended up grabbing the RGT Rock Hammer which luckily has a seperate esc and receiver. My son absolutely loves this thing it goes everywhere!

Have bought both FTX Texan and FTX Treka 3 after watching your videos, and think they both are great. Just as much fun as I have with my TRX4's and Axial Capra and Ryft. Really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work

I love my mauler , I put a scx10 gearbox with drag brake in it for a tighter turning circle , hobbywing wp1080 esc , reedy radon2 16t motor , its well worth the price, I cut some pieces out of my tyres and they get better the more I use it

What a capable little critter.. That a Fusion definitely will rock. Looks like there is enough room to throw in a waterproof receiver tray somewhere too.

I highly recommend at least a hobbyWing 1080 and some deepwood tyres. It's what I have in mine and it goes absolutely anywhere I point it. Be interested to see how a fusion does in it

This video just confirms my decision to get one of these for my next rig. Like the 25kg servo as well... Be interesting to see the hobby wing fusion setup in it, shows how good the chassis setup is that the only issue you have had is due to the mud abuse the rig powered through. Must admit may try and track down a Rock Hammer body, as i like the blue shell they do on that, but for the money to be in your top 10, possibly top 5 is a major recommendation....

Well you was spot on tomley, 🤝 they arrived 😍🥳amazing rc crawler and £150🤑🤑,a grown man happy and a 8 year old over the moon and a mum ragging with 2 crawler driving though the house, and amazing out in the garden, a trail is going to be built 👍👍👍, and recommendations for upgrades would be appreciative…👊

The fusion system is a little bit over kill on a rig that doesn’t cost much more than the system 😂 maybe the trusty 1080 & Holmes hobby trail master at less than half the price would be a better certainly more affordable option for the Mauler. They are great rigs my lad runs 1 and it goes every where I would suggest you 180 the motor & gearbox to help with the torque twist then reposition the battery tray or just make shorter and run a smaller battery for when you’ve changed wheels,tyres & want to go climbing. Great vid yet again thank you 🙏

Great video nice and easy watching👍 going to need some for mud to stop that beast 🙌 One quick question I've got a wpl c34 and taken it fro mud and water and what not but a thew days later took it up a loose dir hill and the motor would just rev up but once it's on the ground it like it's lost all its torque and won't turn the wheels just rev... I'm going to try the battery see if it turns on but if u could give me a idea o a thew of what that could be I would be very grateful

Might have got some mud on the motor. Take it out and run the motor in a cup of clean water for a few minutes. Might work?

I have an HSP Pangolin 1/10 it shares the same axles and center gearbox with the mauler. It is also excellent in the mud, except it is fully waterproof.😂

Love the mud! I run UK RC Mud Bogging, really need to get out with the RC's but also like you I have a career and family and they have come 1st recently! Need my rc fix big time...bring on the mud! Great vid. Be cool to see you build a mud truck like my FTX outback fury based rig, 3300kv brushless, 3S, custom traxxas revo gears, axial slipper clutch...its a riot :)

Hey Tomley Can you help me decide on which RC to go for next, I really like the TRX4 Sport, but I also do like the Nitro Slash, but it’s a hard decision, I have never owned a Trail Truck, and I have never owned or Tried out a Nitro. @@TomleyRC It's arrived and it really is amazing value for the money. Unfortunately mine appears to have a twisted cage, it's half inch higher on one side, I've tried adjusting the mounts but I think the plastic cage is too warped. Hopefully Modelsport sort it out,my son was a bit disappointed.

Oh these Rock Bouncers are fast and amazing, I have a little bit better one than this I have the red Axial Capra, and that thing is crazy fast, Durable, and Flexible!? But this is a pretty good Rock Bouncer to start out with, for a beginner getting into the rock Bouncer side of the Hobby. I do recommend for more speed if you do get this or the Capra, you should Run it on a 3s Lipo for more speed and power!?

LOL I have had petrol and nitro runaways as when I first started there were no failsafe's let alone dedicated programable kill switch's. I have never been a fan of the ESC/Receiver combo's for just this reason one plays up you have to replace the lot, hopefully an motor/esc combo is more reliable.

There a good rc for the money i have one as well ... they go more places then my axial and red cat crawlers... the axial scx 10 gear box fits in them as well.. alot of other parts fit them as well of other name brand crawlers .....

I'm a half and half - if it gets wet and muddy i'm not too fussed - quick hose down after - but i will avoid mud if i can lol

I think paddle tires in mud will do the job much easier. You can carry them and when you want to crawl change to crawl tires. Is my thinking.

I disagree as just Brought one 6 month's ago and it's not let me down at all every rc car truck buggy I also own a ftx outlaw and has never let me down don't have a bad word to say about the brand
