What about transfer of (hotada energy) impact directly to carapace.... it cracks. However, if energy is spent in cracking of helmet the transfer will be bit little on carapace. I feel helmet bearing 1 to 2 hammer shot can be better. Actually I seen once at an accident the helmet was intact but most part of carapace got struck in.
