I have bought roofed turtle but I came to knew today that they r not allowed here... But I love her so much ,I don't know releasing her is good. I keep her in a 2 feet deep tub with 1 m in diameter, with filter ,UVB light with a baskibg area and a seperate home of mud for sleeping. She have grown a little.

So sad story....we destroy our native species ..we have to come together save them... it's our responsibility...bro u r awesome and spread awareness about wildlife...i love your dedication...salute to u

It's the size of my palm .is it good or bad I don't know if it's a male or female I keep in a separate tank (neat and clean) And feed turtle food. And sometimes finely chopped carrot and coriander. I leave it in a other enclosure for 30mins in sun for basking

In all over India aquarium shops Indian roof turtle / star tortoise/ red ear slider turtle and many more species are available sneaking up ... The place where I live here people buy them and release in koi ponds/ mud ponds where they have a large area to swim / basking/ proper feed 😇and few are there who buy them and put them on small tanks😞 but now the wildlife officers are taking strict action against them #savewildlife

My cousin sister found four sri lankan star tortoise in a beach when she was on vacation she adopted them .Those tortoises are happy in their new home .They eat various kinds of fruit and vegetables. Their favorite food is lady finger or okra.She is has given me one female.My star tortoise eat a handful of okra lettuce etc. She is happy in her new home. Whenever l take her out she always sits on my lap

I have 2 indian roofed turtles and I am keeping them for last 2 years. They make good pet. If you too have them take care of them nicely and don't release them in wild , being homebred they don't survive.

Akash ji, most of pic you showed are tortoise not turtles.. Tortoise have webed, clubbed like forelegs and elephentien hind legs. Shells are big doomed. While turtles have long leg as flippers and their shells are aerodynamic and long..

It sickens me when the pet traders call them "legal", "Singapore", and pass them on. I have seen many mature pet keepers keeping them and also star tortoises. Neither pet keepers, nor sellers are aware. Pet keepers want good luck, sellers want to make money.

I have a RES turtle, bought 2 months back, but I don't have any bill and I am traveling home, so will it be safe to take him with me or it's a risk at the railway station? If risk then will give it back to the shop and collect upon return. Please assist. PS I have a big aquarium here and will buy another there, exposing him to UV as well as sunlight daily, giving him proper food as per research from the internet. He is in excellent condition, he is somewhat 5-6 months old but he reacts to me, he swims toward me when I go near the aquarium and doesn't fear me. I am also keeping all necessary medications for turtle and doc-recommended shell protection, eye drops, etc. So it's no torture-type scene, it's going well, I just wanted a companion who gives me a reason to have some personal life apart from my coding job.
