Cheat Death Killed Me

Following some testing on an interloper run in Hushed Valley, I got killed by the cougar. This is where the game respawned me.

I was sure things like that would happen when they first talked about the mechanics. Same for wolves, people will spawn right on the wolf that killed them for sure.

Somone said they got soft locked into the BI workshop that they hadnt collected the code yet for. Someone else spawned in an area where he was surrounded by thin ice lol.

This gave me flashbacks to when I had less than 5% health and was dying of hypothermia, got a fire going, then stepped forward in my shivering into the flames and died from burns. 😂 It’s like The Hunchback of Notre Dame movie, “I’m free, I’m free!” *clicks into restraints* “Dag nabbit.”

Walking into the campfire is so real, happened to me after an early game bear struggle, the way you sway all over the place is really kinda annoying though

This game seems to be getting a lot of updates i might have to try it out again. I've been playing another survival game called Valheim, huge world with ships and many different challenging biomes lots of things to collect and craft and the best base building I've ever seen in a game. 100% recommend.❤

I lost my longest save of 169 days on voyager to cheat death because my stuff wasn't where I died, so I didn't have enough to continue, and this was in sundered pass and I had just got a moose hide and I did the previous tales in it too. I don't even know how I died and all I did was sleep, and my stats were good.

I think you froze to death. Sundered Pass is by far the coldest region and most of the tiny cabins are too cold without a fire. Even with the improvised down bedroll I still think you’d be too cold in most the cabins without a continual fire. Bet you slept like 10 hours and never woke up and froze to death. The stats should tell you how you died tho. Could have sworn in voyager you wake up when you freeze but maybe not…

Your loot doesn’t spawn where you died, it just spawns in the world and only part of ur loot is there. It’s rough, I lost my 500 day in ash canyon bc I didn’t have enough stuff to get back to PV (after cheating death, never found my stuff, and I searched a decent area around where I died)

@@ruelee9952 I lost my 0 day Interloper due to cheating death after being mauled by a wolf in Ass Canyon, and then respawned in the Bleak inlet, where I was promptly mauled by another wolf.

I was playing on a almost 100 day save a few days ago and I got mauled by a wolf during the Aurora and died. So I quickly decided to close app on ps5 but when I got back in the game my save was gone and I didnt have the option to even cheat death. 😭

Im not sure if literally anyone knows this, but you can save and load on psn edition, also the Playstation version of the long dark crashes a lot when you load into diffrent regions or even houses (i have 32 errors in 3 days after the update, about 15 hours across the 3 days)
