From the way you tell the story I often don't understand who is talking and what they are saying. You have to emphasize more who is speaking, separating the statements, otherwise it seems like it is the same person speaking and not a dialogue between several people. In this specific case it concerns the dialogue between the brother, the wife and the sister-in-law.
