If you have a battery that’s really drained or damaged the check engine light can also come on.

Thanks mate. Clear & concise. I’ll get my reader out n hook’erup to hubby’s car even tho he says it’s nothing to worry about. Yeh, that’s what he said about some soft wood on the back of his house decades ago. Good part was that was before I met him so he had a nice new kitchen floor that was easy for me to clean. That was after he had to hire someone to jack up the rear of the house for new sill plate, bandboard, back door trim, deck boards and kitchen subfloor. 😂😂😂

This happened to me: My alternator malfunctioned while I was an 11 hour drive away from home (Ohio) in Quebec, Canada. I was in a pretty small town, so barely anyone spoke English, and my French wasn’t nearly as good as it is now 😅😅 I was stuck in a town called Salaberry-de-Valleyfield for an extra night. fun times

If it shaky and the check engine light is on, it’s most often a misfire. You will need to fix that right away or you’ll trash an expensive catalytic converter.

I used a gun via battery to fill a tire. Too cold to use the battery, so I plugged the tire compressor on via the lighter plug. Check engine came on. Knew I needed to replace my six year old battery. I did.. Engine light still on. Weird AF Car is running fine. Ain't no way that a coincidence. I ain't paying 150 for anyone to tell me. F that. When the light flashes I'll take it.

That happens to mine. Just got a catalytic converter cleaner and poured the entire bottle in (with full tank). After 2 weeks it dissapeared and lasted 1 entire year with no problems. May want try that. Now my issue is back, but after oil change.

if they fixed it it should go away, either way, any mechanic with the tool can reset this code easily

I have a 2013 VW Jetta and I've got it tested by a auto zone and they seen it says biometric pressure sensor I don't have money to fix right now so hopefully it's fine for the next two days be I won't have money until Wednesday

You need to get a code reader and hook it up to your truck then follow instructions, it’ll give you codes. You then look up the codes online in google or any other search engine and it’ll tell you what you need to fix

Have you checked the oil level? To make sure it is full and correct? Do you know how to check that? I would also contact a local autoparts store to see if they will scan your check engine light for free! Post those codes here after!

It could be a spark plug or an ignition coil! That’s typically what I check for first! How many miles and what type of vehicle?
