I got to ride in one of these boats in the 1980's at aquaarena springs, also got to see the swimming pig show. Kinda sad that the swimming pig show is gone, but at least you can still see the springs on the boat ride.

in 84 and 85 i lived on riviera street near the railroad tresslle right before the rio vista dam.....i would canoe up the river, tie up near aquarenia springs, walk to the glass bottom boat area, jump in and moon the people on the glass bottom boats....lots of fun ....excellent snorkeling with the only problem being that the same area was where huge swans laid their babies....several times got attacked by swans when trying to get out....the water was soooo cold and clear....wonderful memories

Aquarena springs was featured in the 1978 movie, "Piranha". Most all of the movie was filmed in Texas. If you're a native born Texan and enjoy cheesey old movies, check it out.

pepper falls at the beginning of the san marcos river was also in the movie the getaway with steve mcqueen and ali mcgraw .... where they got it on in the river....

I road the glass bottom boat in about 1967. There was an albino cat fish about 3 foot long. Heard a few years later it went over dam and was caught soon afterward. Because he was caught so soon after escape, the fisherman had no idea the fish was special and did not make attempt to release the fish back to water or give it back to it's home.
