This vacant mansion sits on a 141.26 acre site on a secluded and very quiet lakefront property.
The home comprises more than 20,000 sq. ft. of living space and includes an indoor pool.
At one time this vacant mansion was part of a premier golf club proposal which did not get approval to proceed.

I'm in such AWE of this place!! I don't know how anyone can leave such an extravagant amazing home like that including the beautiful property it sits on!! I love it to, if I could afford it definitely would hire a cleaning crew twice a week, I’d have to use an electric scooter one for each floor lol and what fun that would be. It’s the prettiest home I’ve seen yet.

I agree with you! It’s perfect. It’s the best one I’ve seen yet of all the explorer’s. I would love to buy this with a group of people. It’s big enough for several couples to live there. What a dream! I’d love to know if it’s for sale. That is one thing I wish they would let us know.

When you go bankrupt, the bank shows you the way out. You don't have much choice. Some states protect your house/homestead 100%, but others have dollar limits on how much of the value you can protect. If it was a second house, then you pretty much lose it to the bankruptcy court or creditor.

When I was young I would have been beside myself if I owned this house in pristine condition. But now that I'm older I just look at it and think, wow that would be a lot of dusting, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, running the vacuum, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the pool and the lawn OMG! You couldn't run fast enough to give me this house. But it would have been spectacular in its prime.

A person that can afford this, can afford a cleaning staff. I feel you though, I've looked at buying a bigger house than mine in lower priced areas near me but would not want to maintain them.

I agree but if one has millions to buy the house then they have to have a crew to help maintain the house and property--maids, ground keepers, etc.

Same. I'm leaving my dude since I'm expected to cook, clean, launder, shop, and serve in his house. Maintenance easier in an apartment. I don't know that I could wait for a cleaning person. They'd have to come everyday for the kitchen and bathrooms alone.

Absolutely awesome place. Rich folks sure know how to live, eh? I am so surprised no one has snapped this place up. 4 mil for a house and grounds as gorgeous as this I find rather inexpensive when looking at the big picture. Is this location fairly isolated? Really love the rooms, light, woodwork, everything. Shows a lot of superior craftsmanship and attention to detail. A work of art. Hate to see this lovely home empty, having seen senseless destruction of other homes when they remain empty for a period of time. Hopefully someone will purchase in the near future. Thank you so much for a great tour of this fantastic house. Your efforts are aporeciated by this fan in rural Michigan! Nice job!

Having worked in the construction business I can tell you this house has never been lived in with all the wiring hanging out no railing on the balconies and the drywall not installed. It looks like the builder quit or ran out of money to complete the job. When that happens the only way to buy it is with cash. No bank will loan money on a incomplete house. A drone shot would have completed the video.

The cabinet on top is for cookbooks hence why it's in the kitchen and not the den/office space. It's there for convenience.

I like the property a lot! Also, in a way, I do appreciate the fact that this house isn't just like all the others. Like, the staircase, for one thing. Also the floor plan isn't too bad, and the woodwork is very good. And the fact that it does have a library. Not bad, really! I love the windows, that let in the sunlight, the french doors. Its actually kind of a cool place.

Would be nice to have some back ground info on this place and you mentioned at one point about possible plan for use of this place being made, would have liked to have known what that was about. It would be nice to live there if your rich uncle was footing the bill. A home like that is a couple of million dollars a year in maintenance and utilities alone. I've had several wealthy clients over the years and most tell me that first $10000 power bill is a shock. No pun intended.

It is gorgeous! It doesn't even look like it has been lived in yet! The tiny white room could have been a Nannys room. Just beautiful! Great place!

$400 Million? hahaha There isn't a house in America that has ever been that expensive...How many Mansions have you seen or even been inside of?. Even people that live in some of the biggest mansions in California such as Bel-Air, Beverly Hills or Malibu with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and the city of Los Angeles don't pay $400 million dollars for their mansions that are far more opulent and beautiful than this place ...some have 20 bedrooms and 30 bathrooms, have multiple Swimming pools (indoor and out) tennis courts and pool and guesthouses and still don't pay $400 million dollars. They are located in some of the most expensive areas on prime real estate. They pay anywhere between $10 to $80 million on average... the most expensive and largest Mansion in the U.S is located in Bel -Air Los Angeles County) California owned by billionaire A. Jerrold Perenchio is only worth $245 million. The mansion featured here at best may go for $6 to 8 million tops if it doesn't sit on 50 or more acres of land. If it has a lot of land, depending on what area it's in, it might fetch $15 to $20 million.

I watched this vid twice. The kitchen appealed to me more the second time as it is quite unique, as far as a single family home goes. Put all your personal kitchen type do dads in there and it could be very homey. Very beautiful home!
