Great! What was the previous wr? And how can I play this mode having fceux and classic nes image? Do I need some other image or what?

the previous wr was probably 118 by meme on May 24, though hydrant has the closest thing to a leaderboard for this and only knew of his 122. there's not that many people who have cleared it at all, so I'm pretty sure that 99 is the wr. to play this, you would need Tetris Gym, a patch which modifies the classic NES image to have more features github.com/kirjavascript/TetrisGYM

What's happening on the first two line clears? Does the level height shrink?

nes tetris has a bug where if you clear the top row, the bottom row clears too
