I can so see the beauty in these structures. I love to imagine that struggling actors and actresses of the 30's and 40's occupied these homes, everyday walking to the Paramount gate, hoping for a chance at stardom. The history this building could tell us and the education we would get. So sad to see it in this condition.

We have not looked through the City Directories and Census files for these bungalows, but we did find news reporting about actress Lila Leeds' desire to buy the compound and turn it into a healing community, and we wrote about that in the linked newsletter. Lila would cry to see the state of them today, and we're advocating for their protection in her honor.
