Thank you very much. Note that your green immobilizer light came on solid with a good relay. I was having random shutdowns, and car wouldn't restart until it cooled off completely overnight. Removed aftermarket Viper alarm and taped all cut wires, replaced detection ring for immobilizer with spare, installed keyless entry system dealer install option from spare, and last replaced PGM relay.with spare. Car runs now.

Did the fuel pump still run with it off mine is randomly shutting off and after sitting it will start and run fine. I noticed still getting a quick fuel pump prime with key on when it won’t start but The CEL isn’t turning on

I just want to say thank you. Today I went to the post office. It cranked just fine. Later in the day I tried to crank her up and nothing. I was like dam. So my first thought was the fuse for the fuel pump. That was fine so I went on KZfaq to do my research..I always go to KZfaq University is what I call it sometimes. I saw another video about looking at the chri cut board of the main relay and solider the bad joints. So I did that and it worked but I touched something and it shorted. So I had to buy a new one. I think I feel better with a new one anyway. Popped it in and she ran like a top. I tried to put the new one in the old slot but that was like hell trying to get that back on. So I just left it alone. From my research I found out that the relay gives power to the fuel pump. So thanks for your direction. I think if I ever get rid of this car. The new owner wouldn't know about a all the wires I got under there. I got fog lights, alarm wires and a rear view camera wires.

6 months ago my car (2002 acura TL 3.2 base) would crank and not start so i changed this main relay 1st and it still would not start. Changed the fuel pump and still no start. Then i checked the unusual fuses that i skipped over in the beginning and found the ACG fuse under the hood was blown. No clue what its purpose is, but i swapped it with the hazards fuse and it started right up and then winter started so no more issues. Now that its getting warmer out i am having intermittent no starts after a drive or sitting in the hot sun and no check engine light test when turning the ignition to Acc. Wish i wasn’t cheap a few months ago and just kept the new main relay but I returned it. If i let the car sit in the shade for about 30mins it starts right up which is making me think i was having coinciding issues with the main relay and the ACG fuse and only fixed half the problem. Thank you for showing the dash with no check engine cause that has been my only outlier and indicator to when it wont start and when i don’t see that light up i wont even bother trying to crank it to conserve battery. Ordered a new main relay and really hope that was the original problem as this is such an annoying random headache of an issue! Thanks for this video

Hi James, my 2001 Honda Accord will crank sometimes and not start, I could be driving, park to get some gas and it will not start for a while, secondly, the d4 light blinks and it seems to be stuck in a lower gear, I changed the ECU fuse (15A). This resolved the issue for about 3 days and it's happened again. What could be the cause, please?

i left my 02 accord sedan 4 cyl sitting for 2 weeks and when i went to start it up today it really struggle and refused to start. i did eventually get it to start and idle fro about 10 minutes till the engine warmed up. when i shifted it into gear and back it out the garage it began to back out and cut off. i let the vehivle sit for a while, wnet back and it started only to cut as soon as i shifted into drive. i removed the fuel pump and tested it on my battery directly and it works fine but when i connect it back to the car the way it is suppose to be and turned the key in the ignition it came on for a second and shut down and never came on again.. ANY HELP

Another possible cause of crank but no start, or intermittent start I found to be the ignitor on my '92 civic lx. It is an electronic module located in the distributor housing and is attached to a heat sink piece of metal, with thermal paste between, so as to transfer heat off the module. Apparently the paste can "go bad" after years, or there isn't enough of it and it will break the ignition circuit and not knowing this, you will wonder why will it sometimes start (when it's cool it'll start) and sometimes not? (it's too hot and must cool down or be replaced).

Sometimes my check engine light comes on (1999 Honda accord)sometimes it don't, whenever it don't I hit the steering wheel & check engine light appears. I wonder if it's the main relay or ignition switch.

the problem was intermittent at first, but today it wouldn't crank at all. I figured the main relay was worth a shot. 47.99 at autozone plus tax plus a flashlight bc it was dark by the time I walked to autozone. pain in the ass to get to, but car is running fine now.

yeah i have before. Its hard to tell when it will do it. it had stopped for several months and started doing it like around December. Sometimes goes days withoit doing it then all of a sudden does it. I turn it on stays for like 2 seconds then dies. i try again and same.

Hey James I have a 1998 Honda Accord I put a used switch in where the key gos in at when I turned to the second position the engine light goes off but the green key light still stays blinking it turns over but will not start. Could you tell me what this maybe. I'm using the same key that was with the switch.

My 2001 V6 Accord refuses to start when it's really hot outside. Sometimes if I run the air (specifically the lower fans) for a bit it will start, so I figured it had something to do with the relay but I ran your test and it seems to pass that. I have had EGR codes come up in the past and tried cleaning out the passages and even replacing it at one point but the code never went away. Not really sure what to do at this point.

My 98 Honda Accord does that but sometimes it doesn’t want to turn on and sometimes it does turn on and when it doesn’t the check engine light doesn’t turn and sometimes the car shuts off while driving and have to wait about 6 to 10 minutes to wait till it turns on again could it still be the main relay ?

Ok so today I just ran into this problem! No spark no fuel injector pulse no fuel pump pressure. Also no check engine light on during start up. Replaced main relay check engine light illuminates and then fires up! Check engine goes off. Thanks for the check engine light insight!!

i have a 00 Accord ex v6. i have a problem where i start the car but dies after. if i floor it rpm goes up but dies right after. i can keep my foot on it like around 2500 rpm and once i release stays on. Sometines it doesnt work and. i have to wait like 15 20min and starts fine. Any ideas?

i tested it like your video but its all fine. Also when i want my mechanic to check it car starts fine. idk if it has to do with it but when i have stereo on and turn up music it will do it. has new battery, spark plugs and supposably coils too. It wierd

My car will start and die on hot starts. If I start it and give it gas at idle and hold it there for awhile It will eventually idle under its own doing but if I don't it just dies; it's a 2001 V6.
