This FrankfurtAirport speedrun is my favourite of any you've done so far, Danya. Maybe because you're more experienced as a streamer/KZfaqr, maybe because of the theme of playing solid, deliberate moves, maybe because even the lower-rated games have been relatively blunder free so there's been more to think about, but either way every video has been so instructional. Thanks so much for these videos.

Couldn't have said it better myself! I'm eternally grateful for the legend and sensei that is Daniel Naroditsky. I started learning chess two years ago now, and Danya has been one of the most influential and instrumental pillars of education and exposure that I have encountered.PERIOD. This Frankfurt, truly is, in a class of it's own above the rest though, I quite agree!

Thx to GM Danya for this series🙏 Being a beginner his comment around 4:55 about “in such positions” is valuable because I usually have no clear idea what the phrase means in context (what factors make the position such a position). Thinking along with the commentary is very helpful.

Ok just leaving this here: I was literally so shocked that you are considering recommending the Grünfeld. I've played it a bit myself and even though everyone speaks against it, I found it was my favorite response to 1. d4, very enjoyable to play because of the open center and the clarity of the position. But in the past you've spoken against it, and more recently I've found myself following your opening recommendations having more success with them, so I thought, "he's probably right, I'll leave the Grünfeld to the side until I'm 2000 or sth and then we'll see, maybe the King's Indian or the occasional QGD will fit me better. It's not like I'm gonna have a curated repertoire in the Grünfeld from Danya so as not to get lost in all the tons of theory 🙄". And yet! Lol, so I'm pretty excited, I'm hoping you end up going for it.

Bb4, exchange the Bishop and play against bad white's dark square bishop!

9:13 I'd like to see you play out moves that the audience suggests that still work as a good move. Especially at these lower levels. Or moves that you see a lot of audience members suggesting but don't negatively impact the game even if it does make it a little more challenging. Because this is the move that most people will choose in a real game so it would be great for you to go down that road. And instead explain the move that you would have chosen and give us the rundown on it after the game is over. This way more of your audience members get a real world example of what they'd be most likely to use as their move.

This was my favorite speed run game in a while! I was afraid that the b6 knight might be vulnerable to a4-a5 and was also scared to move my b8 bishop due to white's fianchettoed bishop and Q-side pressure, but it turns out these fears were unfounded and that I was seeing ghosts in the position. Really rich game as Danya said!

When your opponent has 7 MINUTES left and it's time for the end game Daniel still educates his twitch chat on your inevitable defeat, considering a pre-move only takes 0.1 seconds you actually got 269 moves left at that point. I think it's best to include KID in the repertoire instead of Grunfeld since you're basically an expert of the former and it's kinda hard to find good material on it, it's also easy to transpose into it regardless of white's setup which makes it really versatile imo, I always try to play it against d4 but often get crushed because I don't know the theory at all lmao

As an English player I would put forward that the line from black that "most annoys" me would be the symmetrical English.
@SumNutOnU2b
@SumNutOnU2b Жыл бұрын
@@melodyprojekt yeah, avoiding the IQP is probably a big part of it. But also I think the less immediate d3 works to keep the uniquely "English" feel to the position. Playing d4 early often leads to transpositions into lines that black might be more ready for. I think the main reason I like the English is that in the 1300-1600 range there's not a lot of players prepared to handle it. So a lot of the time you know what you're aiming to do as white, but black has to try harder to figure out where to play. Also, you always have the option of playing an eventual e3 and then d4 if the game goes that way. And until you do the e3 pawn supports the c4 pawn so your setup is more solid. But note that my advice is a little outdated too. I played much more back years ago and am only starting to get back into it. I notice that now I gave a lot more "system players" who pretty much play their favorite setup no matter what I play. Didn't use to see that hardly ever. So I'm still figuring out how to work against this.
@SumNutOnU2b
@SumNutOnU2b Жыл бұрын
@Melody Projekt yes, although there's always the possibility that if black pushes e5-e4 it can become over-extended and targeted with Nfd2/Nc3/f3. It's an uncomfortable position for white to play but not always a losing one. Practically, though, I think it's better to keep the e4 square covered with the bishop and knight(s) before pushing d4
