You are a natural teacher. After looking at the second game I gave the jobava a whirl.. lichess 5+3 vs a 1900+ .. I did not play the best moves but got to sac a rook for a natural mating attack just as you suggested.. it was so natural, it flowed. Such harmony.

I'm pretty curious to know why in the position at 48:10 minutes Jobava tends to take with the c2 pawn. I guess it's a more positional approach, he gets a better control of the center (the pawn on d3 controls c4 and probably makes the e4 push even stronger)

Hey, loving the series. I have a question about the game against the Pirc, the move 5. e5 is great if black takes the pawn but everyone I face in the Pirc know to play Nh5 there after which white seems to just be down a pawn. Do you have a line vs that or do you recommend a different move than e5 against higher rated opponents/ in longer time controls? Thanks! ❤

i saw an IM get trapped by this pirc trap in a rating climb stream. but i think the position is not completely straight forward to convert because white is underdeveloped so he was still able to win. i think the problem with the trap is if your opponent is aware of it the positions aren't great for white.

2:17 One thing I’ve noticed in this position, is that if they go Nh5, it is actually best to go Nb5. Because Nd5 inadvertently protects the bishop that you want to hang. And I’ve noticed if I go Nd5, they might think for a second and see the coming # instead of taking the free bishop. But Nb5 always leads to Nxf4 which leads to Rd8# EDIT: at my elo at least 😅

tbf the king b8 top engine move after that pawn push and your rook retreating move was v fishy especially considering time managment. No way 1200 pushes for the pawn break and then decides to move his king (especially when there is no clear threats on the board at current moment).
