@DATING HARLEY QUINN That is because it is not rated as a sport. There is one company that has the monopoly on these cheer clubs. Because they are not a "sport", anyone can open a cheer club, charge monthly fees, training, travel, costumes for your child to be constantly hurt by untrained asses. Worst when adults can't grow up and are still paying for all this, do not receive a salary but spend 6-8 hours in a cheering...and visiting the ER.

As someone who did competitive cheer for many years, I completely understand the cheerleaders who ignored their injuries in order to keep performing. I did it, I have friends who did it, and we all feel the repercussions in our bodies now from not taking care of the injuries.

The coaches and parents are criminally negligent for that. It's not the teenagers who make those decisions. It's the adults who choose to ignore the injuries or encourage children to perform with injuries. It's pathetic. And the teenagers pay the price.

Zach Drehmann I broke my elbow and still cheered after 3 surgeries and 2 years of physical therapy and now my arm is permanently bent. Cheerleading has always been dangerous (just like football, basketball, etc.) no need to be so snarky about it :(

I love how much this skit points out how dangerous cheer is and how a lot of times they will only put the absolute minimum number of precautions and safety measures in place for the cheerleaders. They do so much more, in terms of standards of safety, for football players than they do for cheer. I cheered for a few years, and my best friend’s daughter has been cheering for years. I worry for her so much because of how dangerous it is and how little her school does to ensure they have extra equipment and such to keep them safe. They have mats, but they are definitely not thick enough. She has already had a concussion and been on crutches with a hurt knee. I am scared she is going to break her neck!

When my daughter was 6 she wanted to do this. I remember the coach telling the group that she expects a child with strep and 104 degree temp to cheer. I looked around and I was the only horrified mom. That was the beginning of the end
