The reason they did that was because Bebe Neuwirth left the show to go back on Broadway, so they had to write her out of most of the final season. It's a shame, and I didn't like it either.

Classic episode! Everybody was on their A game in this one especially Frasier, Sam, Lilith and Woody. One of the funniest episodes of the entire series and certainly the best of season 10! I'm telling you the best thing that happened to the show was Diane leaving and the show becoming an actual ensemble show.
@joevictor53 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree. This is my favourite episode of Cheers and one of my favourite sitcom episodes ever. It's so rare for a sitcom to have great episodes like this 10 seasons in. I also agree about Diane leaving. I preferred her to Rebecca but her leaving really let Cheers evolve and change into more of an ensemble show. I really don't think the show would've lasted as long as it did if it stayed the same and continued the Sam/Diane story for a few more seasons
@kendallrivers1119 Жыл бұрын
@@joevictor53 Yeah I agree. I personally prefer Rebecca to Diane but I still really like the Diane seasons but the show was set free in seasons 6-11 to allow the whole cast to shine.

I wish they ended the series with this episode instead of getting sentimental and bringing back Diane. At least it did not have a Sam and Diane get married conclusion, but imagine if the series ended with that dead body falling into the wedding cake? People would still be talking about it.

The 1hr Wedding episode was by far the pinnacle of the series. It was pure farce in the Grand tradition of comedy shows. Rebecca attempts to explain how trying to learn German conflicted with driver Ed is hilarious beyond words I loved Rebecca From England UK 🇬🇧

@kendallrivers11192 жыл бұрын
Then there wouldn't have been a series because Frasier needed to be more grounded to be a lead. Niles took on the more eccentric traits as a perfect foil for Frasier. And obviously it worked since Kelsey went on to win four emmys for best lead actor which he never even won one for Cheers unfortunately. David Hyde Pierce got four also for best supporting.

The girl who played Kelly was such a terrible actor, but somehow the Cheers writers and cast made it work.
@davidjorgensen8772 жыл бұрын
Have you seen her in something else to arrive at that opinion? In Cheers she did exactly what she was cast to do. Yes, it's a caricature, but a perfect match for Harrelson's character.
@joemckim11832 жыл бұрын
@@davidjorgensen877 I think that you haven't seen her in anything else is an indication that she wasn't that good of an actor. I mean they made it work fine on Cheers but if she was a really good actor you probably would've seen her in something else.
