Walt Disney World Vlog | Day 1 | Pop Century | Magic Kingdom | Old Key West | October 2022

We take you on our early morning walkabout around WDW's Pop Century Resort and board the Skyliner to enjoy breakfast on The Boardwalk before heading to Magic Kingdom for our first glimpse of the castle! We give you a tour of our 1 bedroom villa at WDW's Old Key West Resort and get the ferry to Disney Springs for dinner at The Polite Pig.

Keith and Daisy follow our first day family vacation tradition of riding the jet-lag with an early morning walk around Walt Disney World's Pop Century Resort. They explore some of the different decade-themed areas, find the Skyliner "depot" and wander over the bridge to Walt Disney World's Art of Animation Resort. After a look around the Everything Pop Shopping and Dining outlet, we drop our bags at the Concierge Desk and take the Skyliner to Epcot where we head to The Boardwalk Deli for some breakfast.
We take the bus from Walt Disney's Boardwalk Resort to Magic Kingdom where we catch a cavalcade that gives us all the feels, ride Pirates of The Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, The Tomorrowland Transport Authority PeopleMover, Under The Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid and Space Mountain. We watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade in front of the castle and snack on the Binx Pastry Tail, a Pepperjack Cheese Filled Pretzel and some fries and Corn Dog Nuggets at Casey's Corner.
Then it's time to head to Old Key West to check in to our 1 bedroom villa. We are thrilled to have a villa located near Hospitality House with a picturesque view of the golf course, lake and fountain.
We travel to Disney Springs via the ferry boat to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy dinner at The Polite Pig.

We have stayed on International Drive, Universal, and several Walt Disney World Resorts. Inspired by seeing other people sharing their adventures on KZfaq, we decided to document our experiences too. When not in Florida we run our large B&B and enjoy visiting UK attractions and suporting Luke’s motor racing adventures in the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship. What a fantastic first day in MK. No one does parades like Disney does. The detail in all the costumes and floats is stunning. Like you, I didnt find the Cheshire Tail to be anything amazing. Def not on our list to try on our next trip. Your 1 bedroom villa is amazing, so big. Love the detail of the mickey heads in the wood on the balcony. Glad to see your Polite Pig visit and that you all enjoyed your meal as we are planning to go there on our first night on our 2nd trip to WDW starting in November.

Definitely agree the parades are incredible. The okw villa is just perfect for us especially for a longer stay. We love to polite pig too and will making a return on future trips

10 people know about it now 😂. I know you would not think so but Max and I started splitting meals to try and control the calories living here. Of course It’s possible we are just turning into old people and we will be looking for the 4pm OAP specials next 😂😂. Lovely room.

What an amazing day! We found when we were there in November 2022 the Magic Kingdom was so quiet during the day of a party! We would absolutely do that again even though it does close early, we were able to get everything done! My adult daughter bought that Dooney backpack while we were there as her one purchase of the trip and she absolutely loves it! DVC discount helps with purchases tho 😂

You have found out one of my top tips for MK, go during a party day it is always massively quieter than any other day as people wont go due to it closing at 6pm. Also the Halloween guests take up park reservations as they don't realise that they don't have to book for the party. All in all win, win if you have hoppers to go and see the fireworks on another evening.

Splitting meals works for us that way you get to try more different things. And the portions are far too big anyway especially in the Florida heat. 🖤

Lovely to see your trip - this was our last full day in Orlando and we got absolutely soaked in a rainstorm at volcano bay, so its funny seeing you didn't get the same weather down the road a bit. What a beautiful resort old key west is. Much more room than at pop century.

We were there in June, it was so hot and crowded, and the lines were at least an hour or more. Maybe we need to go in October instead.

We just had our Disney trip end of November first of December and I had been eyeing that Dooney and Bourke bag for a while on Shop Disney. I saw it in the Creations Shop in Epcot and decided against it. My husband ended up buying it for me as a surprise and gave it to me while we were in the pre-show for Guardians of the Galaxy and I just lost it! Anyway, I love the bag and now that I'm back home, I'm still using the bag.

I think Old Key West is a secret because British travel companies don't have it as an option you need to book it direct or dvc sales, does look the biz tho
