@@rossella7151 Only Gerda is kept outside in a cage, she might be 5 but has been here for less than a year. Messi was adopted early in life and was always kept inside. Gerda is still a bit too aggressive for Messi to feel comfortable. They have yet to ignore each other.

Они не подружатся, неужели это не понятно.Два взрослых зверя делят территорию и у них не игра, а нападение друг на друга постоянно.На расстоянии еще пытаются не замечать друг друга, как только их границы сближаются сразу идет защита или нападение.Даже коты не всегда принимают в свою стаю другого кота.А тут такие хищники!! Да к человеку они ласковы, но не друг к другу, это пора всем желающим "ой когда они подружатся!" уяснить, --никогда!! Вот если бы их взяли котятами и с детства они росли бы вместе, тогда другое дело.

I don't want to get in an argument with people that don't know what they are talking about. Messi is a male mountain lion. They are much stronger and can easily kill a cheetah. Despite being small and his health issues, he is still stronger than Gerda. He just doesn't know it. He also has such a long fuse, that Gerda could severally hurt Messi, before his natural instinct for survival kicks in. Once it does he would be able to kill Gerda. I like Gerda and love Messi, as if he were mine. I would hate to see anything bad happen to either one. But I would be devastated if Messi were harmed or killed.

All Gerda has is height, speed, and one non retractable claw on each foot that is sharp (apparently the others are not, similar to dogs). I think you may be overestimating the threat she represents to him. I don't sense any malice in her. She's half wild and wooly, though. And it's that that turns him off her. Just my 2 cents:)

По моему Герда все таки из породы собачьих. А Месси уж точно кот. В детстве было две книжки: Муркина родня и Жучкина родня. Я уверена что в этой книжке гепард был занесен в собачью родню. Даже проверила на интернете - говорят кошачья. Кошачьих повадок мало: не умывается лапой, не закапывает за собой, грация движений не кошачья. Месси она не фига не боится. А кот вообще не играет если за ним гонятся, он даже с игрушкой нападающей не играет. Уж и не знаю как им при разной динамике поладить

И нечего их сдруживать, беда может приключиться. Нельзя примерить двух взрослых хищников. Один который очень ревнивой. Кто знает, возможно в Месси проснется инстинкт его свободолюбивых родичей! Но в любом случае пострадают двое и серьезно. Два кота домашних дерутся, рвут друг друга и зубами и когтями. У одного ухо было наполовину оторвано и разнять еле удалась с помощью ведра воды . А здесь не котики. Не забывайте, в их жилах течет кровь их предков охотников бесстрашных. Инстинкт это уже не дрессура. Подумайте.

Она будет отстаивать свое превосходство.Месси более диванный котик.Ну так Саша во сколько месяцев его взял домой ? Messi was born in zoo. I saw that terrible cage where he was with mother and siblings. I do not know how long he had been with mom puma. He certainly has genetic memory how to play ( chase who is running away). With Sasha he plays differently. He will never play this way with Gerda

Somewhere here I read that he was with his mother for three months. (Just for comparison, in the wild, cubs stay with their mother for close to two years.)

The real question wasn't the obvious one (the why), but a reflection of what could possibly be done to encourage a specific behavior (the how). Everything on this planet is conditioned by its environment, most things have done so because they could adapt were less efficient creatures could not. I believe he is interested in her and is trying an approach to be her playmate something he does with daddy. She wanted to hurry the relationship by chasing and the chasing was scary so He ran away. I am confident that the parent are doing all they can to help them form a relationship and these things take time.
