In my opinion, other than buying murder supplies before the victim arrived in Thailand, the entire act of dismemberment and scattering body parts over an island is totally premeditated. If I organically got into an argument with someone I know and it resulted in a physical altercation, the next logical step would be to remove myself from the situation and stop fighting. If they busted their head, I would've called an ambulance. My instinct would NOT be to stab them and hack them into bits. So, to me it seems like the dude had all of this planned out.

That always gets me when there’s an apparent “accident “ but the other person doesn’t call ES they finish the job off instead. One of my best friends was killed by his bf &he tried saying he had a seizure foaming at the mouth but was screaming so he smothered him with the bedspread, then said he lost it because my friend told him during SI he was hiv positive so he beat him but he tied him to a chair and killed him setting him on fire he got 6 years and was let out after 3 years was seen not premeditated but he still killed him should of got murder. I am from Spain and it's crazy how the media is trying to portray him as a victim. It could be true that he was being threatened and blackmailed? Yes. Is that a valid reason for premeditated murder and cutting a body in 14 pieces? Absolutely not. There's just no way of looking at this in a way where he is the victim. If he had killed him in self defense that would be another thing. But the fact that he bought everything beforehand and cut him in 14 pieces doesn't scream self defense.

You feel that cutting up a body to dispose of evidence is crueller than the actual murder? I beg to differ. Murder isn't just murder as you say. It takes a lot for the average human to kill another human. Once you cross that line, everything else (including trying to dispose of the body) becomes easier on the conscience by comparison. Daniel was actually a chef and is used to cutting up stuff, so it was probably even easier for him than others
@geminisfl

@@beno1129I'm sorry but there is nuance here. You can kill someone with a gun a crowbar or with a knife in self-defense and/or if you feel really threatened by someone. But buying appliances to cut in pieces somebody, is really a different thing. That's why "premeditation" is considered when you judge someone for murder. Chopping someone in pieces really IS different than just "killing" ... any forensic psychologist can tell you that.
@beno1129
@beno1129 9 ай бұрын
@@geminisfl Chopping up a corpse is certainly morbid, but if you've already killed the person, and you're trying to avoid the death penalty, then you may find it easier to cross that line since you've already committed murder. The 'nuance' you're suggesting doesn't really apply here, as we're not talking about chopping up a live person. Dismemberment of a corpse simply isn't crueller than committing murder, but needless to say, both should be avoided earnestly!

Some in the true crime world have said that once someone kills another person they go into covering up the crime and don't think of that person as a person anyone and only want to get rid of the body but I still think cutting someone up is the most disgusting and sickening thing to do to any human being .Ofcourse the murder is the worst thing but cutting that person up after completely destroys and dehumanizes that person and I believe it takes a hate and a extra evil person to do that , especially to someone You've known r have cared for at any time ,like a ex r ex friend ,sick and twisted and in this case ,clearly planned .

Cutting someone up after you murder them is obviously horrible but murder is murder. If someone is already dead they won’t know if someone defiles their corpse. I’d say morally it’s worse to defile a body but at least they can find peace in knowing that the suffering is over once they pass.

Well, talking about the murder, Daniel is a despicable person that deserves the rest of his life under prison. He was never a manager, he was just another 'gigolo' pleasing elder people taking advantage of this young age (29) and handsome body. Probably Edwin encountered something suspicious that forced him to reverse the business/ relationship, but that disagreement is not an excuse to be murdered and dismembered in that way. Daniel likely used him for his money but wasn’t gay or interested in a romantic relationship with Edwin but Edwin wouldn’t let him walk away. He threatened to kill Daniel and blackmailed him. Daniel just wanted to get Edwin out of his life and it’s likely that he didn’t have the money to pay Edwin back the money he gave him. It honestly does sound like Edwin had some kind of fatal attraction and couldn’t accept that Daniel wanted to marry a woman 😬 Of course he didn’t deserve to die but Daniel’s claims were substantiated by the text messages found in Daniel’s phone. Oh boy. Daniel has had the ultimate reality check. Prisons in Thailand are NOT the same as prisons in any other western country. It is hell beyond measure. This is true justice. And the death penalty? Not done by lethal injection. It is literally a noose around your neck, a floor that opens beneath you, and being hung until you are dead (which can take minutes).

@@Weeb_Destroyer I'm not defending the murderer, but I think it's quite simplistic to view people either as absolute killer monsters, or completely innocent victims. This isn't a Hollywood movie. Many people lie somewhere in the middle of saint and sinner, and it seems, based on early evidence, that the deceased is one of them. A wealthy older man who probably felt angry at being led on by Daniel and became coercive as a result.

It's always the dismembering of a body that really gets to me. It's just so extreme and for a person to be capable of doing that tells a lot about them... Also Daniel's story makes no sense. He bought the equipment beforehand and who in their right mind would stab and cut someone's throat after you "accidentally" knock them unconcious. Ofc we can't know for sure what their relationship was like, but I don't believe Daniel for a second. I have literally always thought that when I see that's what the killer did. Like what non-murderous reason would someone have for buying JUST bleach, limestone/acid, contractor bags, an axe/machete, and a shovel? If I was a cashier I'd be trying to take photos of that person or commit their appearance & clothing to memory and then let the authorities know.

You'd be surprised how many cashiers are on autopilot. They get paid garbage, so all they wanna do is get through the day. They don't pay much attention to what customers are buying. Even if they were and got suspicious about a particular transaction, there's not much they can do. It's pure speculation at that point, so the police wouldn't do anything. I agree that suspicious transactions should be reported and taken seriously, even if it leads nowhere. I'm just saying that, realistically, the reports wouldn't be taken seriously, unfortunately.

Regardless of whether or not Mr. Arrieta threatened to expose their relationship or some kind of blackmail, he did not deserve to be killed in such a horrific way. I highly doubt he even threatened Daniel. I’m incline to think Dr. Arrieta went there thinking he was going to have a wonderful time with Daniel. He probably wanted to help him get started on his chef business or channel or whatever it was that he was seeking and Daniel used him for whatever he could get from him and I’m guessing that Dr. Arrieta finally told Daniel that he was done financing everything for him at which point Daniel knew the funds had run out so, in order to keep face with his family and lifestyle he decided to kill Dr. Arrieta to cover up his relationship. Since he bought the saw and other things the day BEFORE, its clear to me it was premeditated. Why would he arrive one day earlier? I hope there is true justice for Dr Arrieta and my condolences to his family and friends. He was an asset to this world and a well meaning person from the look of it. May he rest in peace in the light of our Lord Jesus.

I don't think it was about money. I think Daniel identifies as a straight man but was freaky enough to maintain a sexting relationship, a long distance/virtual romantic relationship with another man for monetary gains. And when the moment of truth came (as in meeting in person, kissing, holding hands, acting as a boyfriend and having sex with another man), he came back to his senses and realized he couldn't go through with it and continue playing this game. Plus his whole reputation was on the line with all the evidence of his homosexual relationship in the form of texts and pictures ect so he got desperate and did something horrible and stupid.

He was living with the doctor in an upmarket area for more than six months and was recognised by one of his rape victims when he was shopping in an exclusive supermarket. She reported his appearance to a newspaper that printed the story . There's a whole lot more to the story than what I and amandakhumalo5655 have mentioned.

I always wonder when these murderers go to these places to buy the supplies to cover up what they've done, aren't they aware that said places have cameras and will see them or is it that they don't care really? This case just goes to show how spoiled brats such as Daniel don't value people's lives because they think their money will buy out the situation. I do hope justice will be served because dismembering the victim's body like that was definitely overkill. And then his family is just as bad for not seeing the wrong in his actions- they are just as delusional

I live in Thailand for a few years now and work in the tourism industry and you would be surprised how many tourists sometimes dont know that the fullmoon party is at well.. the full moon. Great video as always, your care about the victims in admiring my condolences to the victims family and hope he (Daniel) gets what he deserves in the Thai prisons and justice system..

I have seen different videos of several murders that have occurred in the island, especially during this party. Generally speaking, is it dangerous?

@@not_potaytoes_hobbit generaly its not considered dangerous, but its still a giant beach party with tens of thousands of people drinking alcohol and doing what not else so better be mindful.. you are more likely to step on broken glass on the beach than anything else happening

Adrian’s pronunciation of Koh Pangan is spot on! (I’m Thai). First time I heard foreigner pronounced the “ng” sound correctly, most time I heard Koh Pan-gan. Been following your channel for quite awhile, thank you so much for your effort into each video.

Thank you so much for covering this case! Spanish media bombarded us with it all over the summer, and somehow victimizing Daniel Sancho as to having committed the crime out of desperation due to blackmail. The fact that he did it in Thailand puts him under a much more difficult situation had he done it in Spain. It’s been reported that the first thing they did was to save his hair off when in prison

I work in a prosecution office of my country and I've read about this case while on break. Even from the start I felt like it was premeditated and not even close to spontaneous. I don't know about others, but I don't think anyone who murders another would think of cutting up the body to hide the evidence. Especially next to the ocean. People would rather dump the body into the waters and hope they won't be found. That's mostly experience from reading so many murder cases. Hopefully Daniel will get what he deserves for his cruelty towards another human being. What a piece of trash.

Thanks for another great video! I hadn't heard of this case, and I am stunned to say the least. "Well he wouldn't wake up so I decided to make sure he was dead then cut him up into little pieces and throw them away" like WHAT. Even assuming there is some truth to what he said about not wanting to have a sexual relationship and feeling cornered, that's DRASTIC and INSANE

The earliest I've ever been to a video. Thanks for all the hard work you out into covering these videos and the respect you give to the victims. The story of Karen Buckley is still one of the most chilling stories I've heard you cover mainly because I was in the same university as Karen when her life was tragically cut short. Even though I know the story, you still managed to find new information that wasn't covered by mainstream media. Keep up the great work.

Generation why and dreading are peak, if you like coffeehouse they're on the same level if not even better. Rotten mango is alright, but I don't always reach for their content. They're respectful but the way the host makes up situations always makes me feel off. It's in the name of making people empaphise with the victim but always give me a feeling of making up fanfiction to make cases seem more tragic. Still, it's pretty good.

*BS! Daniel didn't have to meet this guy in person to break up...he said he wasn't even involved in a relationship! How do you break up with a person you aren't even involved with?* He met him there for one purpose only and that was to murder him. My guess would be the same as the police...he did it to expunge any and all evidence of the relationship.
