Hello ladies and gentleman,
it's been a while since I have done a hands-on video comparing apple watches. The last time I did this was last year when apple slightly changed the coloring of the Stainless Steel models from the bronzier gold over to the shinier gold we have now and ofc also the transition from stainless steel space black over to graphite.
When put up against Silver head to head, its much easier to see the slight hint of gold tones in the all new starlight color. I personally happen to think that the new starlight is one of apple's best aluminum colors they have released to date. But what do you think? Let me know in the comments below!

Great video, especially the comparison. I would like to see Starlight with any color leather link band. When I saw Starlight in person it looked silver to me, it's just not a warm enough color. Really wishing Apple had kept the gold aluminum. ETA When I went in the Apple store Starlight did in fact look warm vs when I saw it in Costco where it looked silver. I ended up ordering the SS Gold instead which looked fabulous in person!

Nice comparison, especially at 6:25, which really shows the differences between the two. I much prefer the traditional silver. The Starlight is nice, but is more of a champagne/gold color, or a very very light rose gold. It looks more luxurious, and wouldn't really fit with my plain wardrobe, haha. Ideally they would have an aluminum finish somewhere in between the two, so more like the titanium. I would just get a titanium, but the price difference is substantial, and just not quite worth the investment for something I might only keep 2-3 years.

Nice video and very informative. Has your tattoos caused any problems with the sensors on the Apple Watch 7? I’ve heard they can, but I had a series 3 and a series 5 and the tattoo I have on my right wrist where I wear my watch did not cause any problems with either of those. My series 7 in 41mm Blue has not shipped yet.

Now that you’ve had this band for a year, would you say it stays securely attached to the arm while doing sports or running? I wanted the silicon sólo loop for this exact reason. I don’t want the watch to fly off my wrist when running. But people say it stretches and it becomes loose. But with this one I wonder if it’ll stay put.

Buying an Apple Watch 7 soon. I like the Hermes Single tour band in Kraft/Orange nylon weave, "H Vibration" motif, and the Hermes Faces, but it looks like only available in polished Stainless Steel, not a big fan of polished. Is there a way to have a brushed watch body? Else, I can purchase Aluminum Starlight and Band from Hermes, but I won’t get the Hermes Faces. Any ideas? Thanks…

I have the series 5 in aluminium gold and i’m super tempted to get the starlight one because i feel it will match more band colors. But my 5 is in perfect conditions so i dont know if i should get it. If I new the series 8 would keep this color i would wait.. Juan help me!

To make more sales of the stainless steel version. Those who really want that gold tint will have no other option but to go for the stainless steel version. And I don’t see this trend reversing.

I exchanged the Starlight for a Graphite Stainless Steel S7… coming from a Silver Stainless Steel and after that the Titanium… it just didn’t feel Premium to me. #YMMV Thanks for the video!

My stainless series 2 just gave up the ghost so i went out to get a “silver” SE2. The salesperson assure me the starlight was silver. It is not. It is light gold/pink. Champaign. I’m usually up to date on tech but have fallen behind in phone/watch release news so i was relying on the sales person to set me straight. They did not. Now i have to return it.

@@cloudcanoe Went again and this time looked classy again. I actually ended up buying it. Loved it with the cherry band. Unfortunately ended up suffering wrist, shoulder and arm pain. Radiation? Compression from watch belly pressing on nerves? Whatever it was it became unbearable. I took it back two days before the return period and got a refund. My total verdict on it. Didn’t make a huge difference to my life tbh. Had to keep taking it off to wash and cook. The ECG is brief. Not long enough to pick up anything considering flutters etc can be intermittent. And you have to take the ecg to know. It’s not going to detect it automatically. If anything I noticed the longest peak on my ecg wasn’t as strong my other peoples in my family which now makes me feel I’ve got a weak heart contraction. I found that affected me mentally and I wondered if my heart was weak and if it would pack up soon. So I wouldn’t advise getting sucked into buying the watch for the ecg feature if you have no history or known heart complaints. If anyone is concerned with their heart health, they’re better off going to the doctor and getting a full investigation done. Peace.

I loved the star light online and in videos. But when I saw it in the store, it looked like cheap pearlescent plastic and the strap was a yeasty colour. Not how I imagine star light to be. Also, imho, the numerals on the S7 that looked gorgeous online, didn’t look as good in real life either. From 8 -12 they got a little too thick to stay elegant. Don’t know why they didn’t keep them thin like the rest. Back to square one.

While starlight is more silver than gold, when you pair with a silver/stainless steel band like you did towards the end it seems discordant. I’ve ordered a golden brown leather link band so let’s see how that looks against my starlight. Also eyeing some third party champagne Milanese loops which might look nice.

If you can't get the same color, use contrast. It sucks - I also would like a silver one but the stainless steel is just too expensive.

I agree - either you get the same colour band but if it’s slightly off it can look worse, so go for a contrast look perhaps. Kinda like if a song is in C major it sounds terrible if someone plays or sings in C# but not quite as jarring in G.

I do not like the starlight color. In fact, I purchased a series 6 instead of 7 just to get the regular aluminum color. I feel the regular aluminum is more versatile for using different color bands. I'm hoping series 8 will go back to the regular aluminum color.

I’m with you - literally silver aluminum is more consistent pair with the silver products ecosystem. I hate starlight in terms of overall silver product consistency.

I was so excited to get my Starlight aluminum but unfortunately when I put it on it was very underwhelming. I think the color looks amazing against darker skin tones however, I’ve been forced to stay out of the sun after a skin cancer scare and the Starlight color looked drab against my pale skin😩 The band color definitely didn’t help. Sadly I sent it back. Great video comparison once again, thank you!

@@tracyc.1005 I'm sticking w/my series 6 (rose) gold aluminum for working out and wearing around the house. I also upgraded to the stainless steel (silver) series 7 for wearing out and I absolutely love it. My favorite bands for any skin tone are the braided loop and/or the leather link bands in dark cherry. Did you find a watch color to work for you?

Mel, I’m Asian and I can assure you that the star light was a disappointment on my skin tone too. Even in its glass showcase, it looked like cheap pearly plastic and the strap reminded me of yeast. To think I’d been drooling over it for days before I got to see it. I’m now considering the SE Gold with the cherry band.

My Tmobile salesperson tricked me into thinking the starlight was silver. I kept calling it silver and he kept agreeing. I got it home and, its champaign. Its pinkish gold. The band is light fleshtone. It is not silver. Returning it immediately and never going to that store again.

I went in the store to look at the colours. I was going to go for the starlight but when I went in person it just looked really tacky like a toy that’s my opinion tho. I was surprised how the silver looked it was nice. The apple employees told me there favourite was either the silver or the midnight colour. But yeah really prefer the silver but just my opinion tho.

Awesome! As i always say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, i happen to dig starlight but prefer midnight over starlight. I like that apple mixed things up as the standard silver was just starting to get boring for me after so many years. Like you said though, thats only my opinion. Thanks for your reply! 😀

Yeah man, I was lucky enough to snag most of them over the years but it seems the leather links probably will replace them. I felt the exact same way when the woven nylons got discontinued :/

Yes, it depends more on the lighting but I agree, i'd say its more similar to silver than it is to gold.

I love silver aluminum, but now they changed it into starlight which is too feminine to my liking. The new starlight color is just inconsistent to the MacBook, iPad Pro, and other accessories with silver aluminum. I stop buying, not even interested with any products with starlight aluminum.
