Lukaku has only played 26 games in the EPL since 2019 yet is the 20th all time EPL scorer with 121 goals. He’d easily be in the top 5-10 scorers of all time at only 30 if he’d stayed in England. It’s amazing how much criticism he gets.

Lukaku’s cross pass off the outside right foot was class but first time I have seen him do that!! Even if Lukaku became Messi for two seasons as a chelsea fan I would never want him at Stamford Bridge ever again. Drogba: 254 EPL appearances, 104 goals (0.4094 goals per appearance) Lukaku: 278 EPL appearances, 121 goals (0.4353 goals per appearance) People don’t like it when actual numbers contradict their feelings and preconceived notions. But Lukaku has both a higher number of goals and better strike ratio than Drogba in the EPL.

Could you pull up his goals against top 6 sides in the prem, as well as amount of goals in knockout tournaments? Lukaku is not made for the prem, his touch unfortunately fails him in the final third and prohibits his link up play. Unfortunately, the prem is too fast for him and he doesn’t possess the elite touch required to play his position. He thrives in slower leagues.

Actually watch Lukaku instead of using tired cliches from trolls who rarely even watch him. Lukaku is an absolute nightmare for opposing center backs and his “poor touch” is so overblown. He’d easily be a Top 5-10 all time EPL goal scorer at only 30 if he’d stayed in the league. Terrible analysis. People like you act like there are a goldmine of strikers better than someone like Lukaku. There aren’t.

Context matters. Drogba played fewer minutes with fewer starts, and got more goals per 90, far more assists per 90 and scored fewer pens. Lukaku is underrated because context wasn't applied in critiques of him returning to Chelsea, but Drogba is apparently underrated by the masses because of this too. Everyone's raving about Toney because he scored 20 in a season, but in reality it was only 14 non-penalty goals in 33 apps and starts, playing all bar 19 minutes of those. He played in a team that leaned on his strengths more than a Tuchel Chelsea did with Lukaku, and yet he didn't convert as well despite having easier chances on average, and he didn't score as many goals per 90. Just looking at goals isn't enough.

@Photosoflife The CR7 and Messi era shifted focus to individual stats... Football is a team game... A player like Drogba is measured by not only his individual contributions to the team, but how many times he made the difference to the team... Finals are the biggest occasion, typically the most difficult matches, and Drogba made the difference in a team full of great players.

Best finisher we've had for a while. Very similar to Diego Costa, although he was able to take about 40% more shots per game than Lukaku did at Chelsea. Abraham converted slightly better, but only started overperforming relative to expected goals in his second stint which was inexplicably cut short by Tuchel. And Tuchel was the problem with Lukaku too. I'm surprised he was able to score eight goals in 1500 minutes with the dire, low chance quality creation we had under him. People were basically shooting at 10 defenders all game while possession was used with essentially a back SEVEN to make it look like we could both defend and "dominate" games. Most of our best stuff in rare games was played with more directness, like when Thiago Silva, Jorginho or Ziyech were able to put balls over the top for someone like Werner to run on to. Imagine Lukaku (who looks like a runaway train when he's at full pace) in that setup. Shame it ended acrimoniously, but Lukaku didn't want to be there because he wasn't being used properly, and that's fair enough when you've just had the pressure of a gigantic price tag put on your back. Jackson's average post-shot expected goals figure this season has been 71% higher than Lukaku's was in that season the latter was technically overperforming in, and yet he's the seventh worst converter of chances out of 2737 players in the top five leagues.

@@scottxtapes9743 I didn't say that. I don't think that'd work after everything that's happened. It's just ridiculous it's got to this point in the first place. Everyone bangs on about getting a top forward, and yet we farm one out on loan after not using him to his strengths. Huge waste of money. And they'll probably try to offload him on the cheap while we're running out of homegrown players to either meet league regulations or sell off so we can fund the next waste of money "talent" with no first team credentials.

Darren is wilding out, Modric's pass is crazy. He basically scanned ahead before receiving the ball & knew how to place a 40 yard trivela that dipped perfectly on the foot of Rodrygo(Rodrygo read that well too & just smashed close range, no chance for a reaction). Modric was basically reading the future & his technique is basically physics, there is a video that discusses the physics & science of that pass.

If Lukaku and Chelsea would be able to sit down and settle the differences there is a chance. He's not a bad player. He does have attitude issues at times that need to be managed. He does have the striker profile we are looking for in Osimhen but 120mil for him might be tough right now depending how the sales and FFP rules go. If Lukaku would've just cleared the air with that interview things could've been different. He's a good player... he is.

Lukaku will not come back to chelsea, he's made it clear he does not want to play for chelsea or indeed any other prem team. As a Chelsea fan i think Lukaku is a disgrace for the video and attitude he showed 6 months after signing for us. Its like getting married and then after 6 months they tell you they don't like you and to go back to there previous partner. Disgraceful.

@@tevildo45 Lukaku is a bully, look up how many goals he has against the top 6. His greatest strength ironically is his strength and unfortunately his touch always let’s him down in the final third. Unfortunately, the prem is too fast for him to be effective as a central striker. He thrives in slower less physical leagues.

@FelixGallardo1946 Lukaku for Belgium: 114 caps, 83 goals, 17 assists Kane for England: 89 caps, 62 goals, 19 assists Lukaku actually has a higher goal average per game (.7281) than Kane (.6966). People slagging off Lukaku should actually look at his career numbers.
