ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
“There’s not enough time.” As professional photographers, I’m sure we’ve ALL said this at some point. The to-do list is never ending, and it may feel like there will never be sufficient time to get everything done that’s needed to grow your photography business. Yet, all around us it appears like every other business owner has so much extra time. It might cause you to wonder “what kind of magic do they have that I’m missing?”
How do we free up more time as photographers and increase our productivity in our businesses? In this video, I share the mindset shift that helped me grow a successful wedding photography business as a side hustle (even when going to school and working full time.) Everything changed once I changed my relationship with time … and it can for you too!

I'm curious... If you had an abundance of time - what one big dream would you make into a reality this year? 🙂

Another great video by Chelsea. Biggest take away for me is knowing the type of clients you want and get a strategy to build on them…. Vs spending cycles over delivering to clients that are not ideal for growth.

So many times we get buried in the everyday tasks and forget to prioritize what’s important for our business. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration Chelsea! I’ll be putting more focus on marketing and building relationships this year!

Such a timely video, Chelsea. I'm so guilty of all these thoughts. It can be overwhelming starting a business and trying to wear all the hats and do all the things. I so needed this reminder. Thank you for always breaking it down and reframing things. Perspective is so huge and I'm going to take these statements use them as I work toward my dreams!

I like watching your videos. What camera is worth it for a beginner and budget? Thank you.

Hey Felix! Thanks so much! For beginner gear: I would recommend going mirrorless, and just getting the best you can afford. If you can afford a full-frame camera, I'd highly recommend it, but if not it's okay. As you grow, you can always reinvest and upgrade your camera! And for lenses, the 50mm 1.4 or 1.8 prime lenses are a fantastic prime for portraits- but typically pretty affordable. 🙂 The specific camera will vary by brand, and I'd recommend going to a store where you can see some cameras in person if you can. This way you can feel like in your hands and play with the menus to see if you have a preferrence. Sony, Nikon or Canon are all great brands and are always 1-up'ing each other. My personal pref would be Nikon or Sony, for different reasons. Nikon's color profile is the best (and I also love their glass and how their cameras feel in my hands... super ergonomic!) And Sony is way ahead of the game when it comes to mirrorless. They are definitely leading the charge whereas Nikon has been slow to roll out things like new lenses. I use Nikon for photos and Sony more for video, but love both! Hope this helps 🙂
