Valeri Bespalov is my great grandfather, he was one of the chernobyl liquidator, and he still tells me stories when we visit him. He remembers the metallic taste like iron, and he told me that when him and 2 other people were assigned a task. He didn't think that he was going to come out alive, i understand why.

Trev, the characters are real, The guy who you died as inside of the facility with the name Ignatenko was the one who's wife was pregnant during the hbo chernobyl series

FYI, 1 guy died getting the only live pic of the then active "Elephant's Foot". (Not sure if its still active now). I hope its shown in this series. Trevor it seems is gonna go through a lot of emotions while playing this series. 😢

You know what is horrible? 134 of brave men that were the first responders at this disaster of the meltdown of Chernobyl were diagnosed with acute radiation syndrome. 28 of them dies in the first 4 months after the disaster and another 19 over the next 20 years.

I was shocked as you were calmingly reading hints on what "Stamina" is while standing in one of the most dangerous high radiation zones near to Block 4. That area was hardly accessible by humans during the first months after the accident due to high radiation levels. Only for short periods of time, or in an armored vehicle. And then you were standing in that pump room, where the missing man Valeriy Khodemchuk is supposedly buried under the rubble. Valeriy Perevozchenko was searching for the missing Khodemchuk there and got himself a lethal radiation doze while trying for a few minutes. It's really scary to imagine standing there yourself if you know where those rooms are located and what was their status shortly after the accident!

Now this is scarier than any horror game

The Chernobyl disaster was what the explosion on the klingon world (whos name i cant remember) in star trek VI the undiscovered country was based on..and the line was pretty much the same There has been an accident etc etc etc.

The firefighters were forgotten never in the history books to be known

i think alot of them men was uneducated that night when it came to radiation or the efforts of exposure rates they really didnt have a clue what they was walking into very sad times very brave men. but id like to see another part of this game defo looks intense trev keep it up G 💯👍
