‘Cherry blossoms’ bloom in Palawan

The Philippines’ own version of cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Palawan. The medium-sized tree called Balayong emerges every March and April.

I grew up in Puerto Princesa City during my elementary and highschool days years 1971-1981...our cherry blossoms are abundant esp.in PNHS ....everytime i went to East Central Elementary School were I studied Grade 1-6...many worms black in color if i am not mistaken...even its a walking distance from our house the school..i took tricycle to avoid the worms....hehehe...so very memorable indeed....

When i was a child, there's plenty of cherry blossom tree in our park here in Kalibo Aklan and even in our neighbors house but because of strong typhoon maybe 1985 all of it were gone!

Sana ganyang ang mga punong kahoy sa gilid ng mga kalsada or mga park. Mayroon pla tayo nyan at katulad ng fire tree bakit di man lng pinaparami. Di ung puro bahay na sira at basura ang makita sa tabing kalsada kahit sa probinsya. Palibhasa ang mas priority puro pagnanakaw kaya kahit pagandahin man lng ang mga park wlang idea kong isipin puro tayo bundok or beaches pero useless pagdating sa pagandahan ng park much better pa ung wlang bundok na bansa ang mga park mapa wow ka tlga.

Sana gagawa sila ng Park na puro puno ng balayong ang nakatanim gaya ng Japan, Taiwan Para Mas marami ang tourist na pupunta isa yan sa magandang attraction sa pinas...

Dapat ung FIRE TREE din paramihin ang ganda kaya ng bulaklak nun. Marami nun s Bulacan dapat ung mga taga Bulacan padamihin nyo p lalo ung FIRE TREE dagdag atraksyon un sa lugar nyo lalong gaganda ang Bulacan.

tweet: Could you please plant some Cherry Blossoms in Manila Bay area -- near the water. Plant some blossoms to use as a (median division) in between roads and busy highways -- blossoms like that should be seen not hidden. It's lusciously gorgeous! God speed.

Reply ro @@hotice4417 -- It would be nice to see "balayong" trees in Manila Bay area. The blossoms are usually pink and white, but I have seen them yellow as well - strange but true. God loves you Phi-lip-pin-neans - you have good lookin' trees. be blessed.

Naala - ala ko dati sa bgy. nmin sa Puerto Princesa 90's sa tabi ng daan daming Palawan cherry blossoms, fire trees and golden showers.. subrang ganda .. Ung Japanese na mga torista nagulat.. Sabi nila parang di sila sa Pilipinas..

its cool but its the orange flowering trees for me (calumpang? Caballero?) dunno, maybe since it's those trees that I grew up seeing here in the province and staring at on amorsolo paintings and old pictures besides the streets, Kubo or church. kinda more nostalgic, and "us" in a sense..

those are not Cherry blossoms. They are not even 1/4 of the beauty of the cherry blossoms. But it can be beautiful if Filipinos learn to Love It. No need for FAKE NEWS to sell Palawan. Do not insult Palawan with Lies. These trees are still too little! They were planted very recently!!! They 4 big trees on a park in the center of the city. 4 and its not Picturesque! Comparing this to Sakura is like saying the City of Bacolod or Cagayan de Oro is like Tokyo or Berlin.

That is actually easier to plant and is just as impressive!!! This video is a sad Misrepresentation of reality though. These are not cherry blossoms and must not be compared to cherry blossoms or the Culture that those blooms in Japan inspire.

Maganda lang tingnan yang cherry blossoms pero ang dalang pollen nyan ay magbibigay ng allergies at asthma. Mahirap at magastos ang gamutan nyan dahil involved ang ating skin at lungs. Ingat po bago mahuli ang lahat.

That's the original because the one in Japan was taken from the HIMALAYAS. I think Noah after the flood planted it in the HIMALAYAS where the ark rested at the tallest mountain. This plant was in fact originated in THE GARDEN OF EDEN right in front of the PALAWAN ISLAND which is underwater because it is KODESH in Hebrew --- THE CENTER OF THE EPICENTER OF MARINE BIODIVERSITY!
