other manufacturers base models can't compare to the T4 Urban 5MT. So much spec in the cheapest car Chery offers.

Thanks for all the information, do you think this car is great for a first time car?

Hi. It's an absolutely amazing car. My only question I have to ask is, do you have a license and have you driven other cars before. The manual is good and takes a little getting used to with the auto hold, which if you're a new driver will be perfect until you have confidence in your clutch control. That being said, for the auto, if you have not used to have used an auto before or an inexperienced driver, I would say just be careful as the petrol pedal is very sensitive. But you'll love it and really enjoy it.

Hey. On this model, to start and stop the engine, which pedals are your feet or foot on?
@theBaldChery Жыл бұрын
This model and none of the T4 have the stop / start function. Only the T7 & T8 has the function. I think the Omada5 should have it.

Is this a non turbo one ? The NA If so is it terrible compared to the mid spec turbo? Like is it too slow or struggles in 15° to 20° Slopes ? Is there any other négatives you found while owning it?

Hi. I own the T4 Elite Turbo CVT SE. ( I was testing the urban manual for my channel ) Which still has a little bit of grunt and power and more than sufficient for general traffic. If I didn't take the turbo, I would have been more than comfortable with the N/A. Just don't expect it to be very good on high gradient uphills. As it's N/A, you'll still need to use a little bit of the right foot over the turbo version. The Comfort CVT 1.5 NA wasn't great as the combination wasn't good, just lacks the power from pull away but good when moving. If you can afford the turbo, I would suggest to get that. I know a few people that have the manual turbo and absolutely love it. I suggest take both manuals for a drive bearing in mind the N/A is 5 gears and the turbo has 6 gears. Start with the N/A and then the turbo but take them on the same route and use a variety of traffic and hills to see the best one for yourself.

@@theBaldChery thank you so much for the detailed response 🌟 The price difference is a problem for me everything was awesome in this car i was just skeptical about the engine being underpowered for the model above this the dealership here has like 10% increase fromt the urban to the cvt NA wich is same engine meaning im not even upgrading just the cvt and some options to get the turbo id have to jump to a 20% ish price from the base urban wich seems alot if it has grunt and semi good id be happy with it Only last concerne is road noise or wind noise is it that bad in this car in general? Especially like in the 120km/h highway speed?
@theBaldChery7 ай бұрын
@djalilderr2831 so lots of people were complaining about wind noise. Let me put it this way, there can be a loud noise if you have a very strong cross wind and you doing highway speeds over the speed limit. If you are in an area that is always very windy and you do more than 140kph, you'll have the noise. I drive a lot on mixed rds and traffic and the noise is actually relatively quiet but also dependant on the road surface. It's quieter than my 2 previous cars, which were 2013 Fiesta and 2015 IX 35. While driving on the highway with my wife, we'll chat and it's normal level. Doesn't feel like you shouting, which is the case in some cheaper cars. The car has sufficient sound insulation but don't compare it to top end German cars at double the price. Hope this helps you a bit. Which area do you stay in? As for the price, lots of dealers in SA are currently offering a R10k to R30k assistance on price. A colleague of mine is looking at the Elite Turbo CVT ( same as mine ) he is still paying off a Nissan micra techna with high mileage ( 175k km and 4yrs old ) He still owes R170k to bank but Chery will give R140k and deal assistance of R20k. He can pay R10k and settle it or add it to the new T4 which amounts to about R200 a month or something like that.

Im planning on getting the urban Im coming from a 3l d4d hilux Now Im okay with a bit less power But is it so that you can easily stall it when pulling away Or is strong enough to have it pull away smoothly?
@theBaldChery14 күн бұрын
Provided you have clutch control, it won't stall. It's still got enough power to pull away smoothly for an N/A. However, unlike a Diesel, it doesn't have lots of torque to use that to pull away.

As a VW fan, Chery surprised me. Suddenly VW are way overpriced. I think VW must get some lessons from Chery how to build a car.😁
