Chess Openings: Learn to Play the Goring Gambit!
There are many good e4 chess openings including the Ponziani Opening, Vienna Game, Vienna Gambit, Scotch Gambit, Danish Gambit, Evan's Gambit, and many more! However, today we cover an e4 chess which you have (probably) never heard of before! It is called the Goring Gambit, and combines ideas from both the Danish Gambit and Ponziani Opening. Fun option for white!

Did you ever make a video of the 2 pawn sacrifice with the monster bishop combo? 🙏 It looks so fun to play.

Definitely has those Danish Gambit ideas but just Nf3 thrown in there before d4 and c3!

When I was a kid (I am 53), I naturally started playing this move against the other kids at school as I had such a large advantage in development. I had read Bonny Fischer teaches chess (back rank mastery puzzle course I suppose), and I think he hit on ideas of opening theory. Somewhere I heard about Gambits and decided I would make my own. So I would play the Nc3 version of the Goring Gambit. Was years later that I saw the name of the line in a big opening book (pretty old before ECO I think). Anyway, has always had a soft place in my heart.

YES! When I play 1.e4, it's always, always in the hopes that it turns into a Göring. Excellent.

It's actually not "Goring", it's "Göring", which means it's not pronounced _goring_ , it's pronounced more like _garing_ .
