The mate becomes apparent if you play more moves. Rg5 is a very natural move since "haha check" is the mentality I go by for the most part.

John Bartholomew "Chess Fundamentals" playlist is the best thing to learn, from beginner to intermediate. Also check GothamChess channel as he got many instructive videos. Analyze your games (in Lichess, replay your mistakes and blunders, not inaccuraccies as they can be too advanced even for good players) and when you find mate in 1 look for better.

Will be watching and enjoying the humorous play and Aman's commentary but I am having an annoying feeling that a certain thing will happen in the comment section. So the only thing I ask of viewers is to not embrace the simpiness that has been brainwashed in them via decades of cultural programming. That simpiness would work if and only if, the female side also embraced the corresponding compatible persona but we all know the exact opposite is the case because of the exact opposite brainwashing of them for decades. So enjoy the pleasant conversation between these two in the video (if it's there) but don't ever be a simp to anyone whether in online comments or apps or real world unless that other person is correspondingly non-egotistic and a good human being at minimum, towards you.
