Great review. You get it. Most other reviewers gloss over how truly game changing EV performance is. As you suggest, once you go electric, you never go back. The performance is just so much better!

I own a Bolt. Very happy with it. No maintenance other than tires and cabin air filter. Charging has been free for us so far. The high initial cost works out to neutral eventually. This car fits my tall frame. Was designed in South Korea so doesn't match what I expected a Chevy to be.

Steve, we've gone from 3 pedals, including older cars with parking brake pedals and manual transmissions to 2 pedals and now we only really need one. If I didn't live in a condo, I would seriously consider getting one of these, the thought of never having to visit a gas station is very appealing.

Buying one of these today, august 2023 that just got a new battery from the recall. Lots of bang for my buck! It should have good trade in value in a few years if we need to upgrade. There’s lots of these in great shape.

What an absolutely phenominal car...I haven't had this much fun since my 85 honda prelude. Everybody has an opinion...but the only ones that really count are those that come from EV owners. I own a Bolt. It now has 29,000 trouble free miles on it. I haven't visited a gas station in 9 months. Charging is stupid simple. No real maintenance until 150,000 miles and then only to change coolant. Not even any brake dust on the wheels since it uses regenerative braking. All this nonsense across multiple posts from non EV owners stating 11 hours to charge, battery will die...blah, blah, blah. ICE drivers...the joke is on you!

I enjoy how frank you are Steve when looking at the EV landscape. I often come off as a "Tesla hater" but the very matter of fact is nothing on sale right now competes with the Bolt but not many journalists would outright say that as it seems to brings the legion of Tesla fans all over the dislike bar.

You forgot to mention the state incentive. NYS has a $2000 rebate (taken off at the dealer). Then you get the $7500 Fed tax rebate.

Can you please comment on what maintenance is required on EVs? I’m still waiting for this tech to mature and prices to drop, but also hoping that TCO will eventually be VERY low due to less maintenance costs.

Does the $7,500.00 tax credit come off MSRP @ time you buy from Dealer ~or do you get to write off $7,500.00 from declared total earned @ end of year on Fed. tax form?

Love to see "WALMART" be the first to have about 6+ charge stations @ EVERY STORE in USA near front or side of store to buy say a 1 hour Charge! Walmart knows the Customer will have an hour+ to shop during the charge & we will know that if you go to Walmart to shop there here will be charge stations too
