The seat back rocking is designed as part of the car. It's to prevent damage to the seat if it's reclined too much and then the power seat is used to move the sear rearward. Many people complain about this not understanding why it's that way.

Great review. I owned a 98 convertible manual transmission, and just got an 05 (C6) manual coupe a couple months ago. I'll always love the styling of the C5. The interior was crap, but who really cares about that? It's all about the performance! Both generations are great, reliable cars that are cheap and easy to maintain, pretty quick too!! 🙂

The leaf springs are fiberglass composite, not kevlar. If it's acting strangely, it sounds like your shocks need to be replaced. It also sounds like you need better tires. You should also check the sway bar end links. Yours are the plastic ones. The Z06 got the metal ones and they will help the handling quite a bit. Also, look for "Z51" on the white sticker in the glove box. If you don't see that, it means you have the base suspension, which will also explain why the car doesn't feel as stable as it should. You can swap out the leaf springs easily and that will help a lot. Try www.corvetteforum.com IT also sounds like you have the standard 2.73 gears instead of the "performance" 3.15 gears. If you REALLY want to wake it up, get a 3.42 differential from a 6-speed car.

Great car and colour. Probably the perfect car to pick up babes with in Poland too:) Here in Stockholm Sweden it would make some heads turn but in the summer it would get overshadowed by lambos, ferraris and the Porsches that now are so common that they look like regular sedans. I would rather buy a Corvette like yours though because of the price/performance ratio. A perfect sunday driver!

The hear in the center is a common complaint. It's because the exhaust is tucked up close in the tunnel. Foil-backed heat insulation will solve this. Having also had a C5 and the previous C4, I can tell you the C4 was FAR hotter - so hot you can't touch the tunnel.

Nice video, but I don't understand why you rated reliability and practicality so low. Ls1 is known to be a very reliable engine with very few major issues if maintained. It also averages 27+ MPG on the highway. I'd say it's at least an 8/10 for reliability. I suppose practicality is subjective, but assuming you're comparing it to other 2 seater sports cars, a 4 just seems asinine.

wish they did the C5 for one more year that way the last year would be 05 C5 and the first year for the C6 would have been 06 C6

C5s a great but they need rear wide body to make them that much better. Oh yes I have a 2003.
