Man knows what he's doing. Got timing set close enough with out a light and can continue to seat lifters run in, just keep a eye on water temp for the next 25 min's .

Love they way you used a bobbypin from a clothesline to keep the choke open. I'll remember the next time I build a chevy sbc.

I know this video is a few years old. But I have to say, it's one of only a few that I have seen where someone starts a new build and actually gets the RPMs up correctly to break in the cam.

any time you are breaking in a new cam, use diesel engine oil. the high ash content will protect the cam /lifter surfaces much better and yes, 2000 rpms for min 20 min after it hits operating temp= no idle.

Adjusting timing with a vacuum gauge? Last time I saw that was in the 50s before timing lights became the better option.

Sure your plug wire long enough. Teen yr we had a 327 swap to a older Malibu for the 350. Wrong engine not enough torque

Yes sir. Paint first, then drop in the engine. You don't have to paint the car first but for sure the engine compartment. What are you working on?

If your having problems figuring that swing I can't even think you having a hand putting motor together it's imbarasin on your end motor so far out timing seriously stick to drinking 😂

Ain't nothing special but didn't knock smoke or rattle like hell takes a few grand to build any kind of HP engine now days used build pretty good 327 that would rattle the rafters for around a grand 40 years ago not today parts are out of sight then pay a good machine shop for boring balance job decking you can spend 4 5 6 hundred bucks on block itself that's if you don't do anything special to hell you can buy good aftermarket heads new cheaper than you can restore the the old 461 or 462 double jumper heads back in the 70s you could pick up an old factory 327 rated anywhere from 265 to 375 horsepower factory freshen it up with a few add ons have 7thousand rpm good little horse for twelve to fifteen hundred not anymore now a good engine block can cost a couple Grand another Grand for crankshaft grand or two for pistons and rods or more old boy I worked for for about a dozen years give 25 thousand for a used 410 for his Sprint Car then spent about sixty five hundred to freshen it of course your talking all aluminum fuel injected dry sump engine making around 880 HP that's a long way from a old 327 but engines ain't cheap Hp costs money I give the old boy credit for building one that fired right up and sounds pretty good I've seen goofballs spend 10 Grand try to do everything their self and wind up with a pile of scrap metal 😂
