The good junkyards for old iron are definitely fading into oblivion, I used to love roaming the yards looking for parts even if I didn't find anything it was a fun day.

Two months ago you did a story on a 1963 Chevrolet Impala that I was able to relate too. The black 1966 396 SS you found looks like my old car. It was black everything with red sidewall Tiger-paws.Cleaning out my old car papers, I found the receipt for the 8 track player I installed 1/27/67 at the cost of $121.14. This was a lot of money in 67. In 1967 I purchased a 1964 Pontiac Catalina 389 tri-power four speed with the left quarter wiped out. We owned both cars at the same time. The Pontiac was my daily driver and my wife drove the 396. Thank you for your videos. I love the way you tell the history of each vehicle.

Back when i was a kid a man had a place similar to that down the road from my uncles house. He had all types of cars from the 30s up to the mid 70s. Probably 300 or more. It was awesome walking around looking at them.

Single pot brake master cylinder, four wheel drum brakes,no head rests or seat back latches. 396 cubic inch "big blocks" in a 325,360 and 375 horse power versions. Two speed "power glide" transmissions , four speed "muncey" transmissions, cast iron "standard flange" , " Holley " single quad intake manifolds. Lap belts , 10 and 12 bolt "posi - traction " limited slip differentials. Love those Chevelles . That was a great time , building and racing and swapping engines. Out with the straight six and in with the v-8 . Numbers didn't match but the joy was in the building and blood pumping fun of loud exhaust and unbridled freedom. Thanks for the memories .

@@classicrods3142 your channel def ain't all that. Great concept, poor execution. Get someone who knows how to operate a camera and understands light and settings. The hosts need to tighten it up on the delivery also. They should do more than a take or 2. Sorry, not being hateful, but if you want that channel to succeed as hard as your trying in the comments you're gonna need to out your efforts more into production. YT is super competitive these days and most production outdoes what's on tv these days.

The problem with some of the people that hoard these cars that eventually become worthless and I mean the main problem besides losing history in the process of greed I call it. Some of these hoarders just like more than one Bozo I've dealt with in my time thinks the cars are worth mega money so they want your interest to turn into their lottery for em... Now in reality most people pass on the idea of taking something semi worthless and pouring a fortune of money into in order to preserve history but Ive done that all my life and still see my children as I call em driving around here. A majority of the people I've run into with these classic cars are second generation meaning they inherited the stuff from a father or relative that actually did restore cars. Sadly many of the folks I run into now in possession of stuff like this have some really really bad habits/addictions alcohol & drugs. For a better part of 30 years now I have been after a 1955 Chevy Apache and a 55 Nomad on a lot some distance from here I occasionally pass on by. In years before I stopped several times and offered ample cash for each of the vehicles. Mind you they were in rough shape not terrible 30 years ago. The guy lived there on the property had bad alcohol habit he ended up dying in jail. Every time I made an offer on the vehicles he used to say U gotta come up with more than that. He always stank of booze. Now he's dead and the vehicles are still there and pretty much rotted into the ground. Subjectively a neighbor there knows me from doing business and actually begged me to come get the pair. However people knocked the windows and stuff out trim is now gone on both of em. Pretty much they ended up just as I predicted they would end up. My Ford restoration right now is over the 7K mark. A new bed for the truck new carpet new seat a cam intake carb and all the paint & body work Brand new tires frame coatings on and on it goes. If I sold the truck today I would want 25K for it. Now would someone actually pay me 25K for an old 1988 Snow Fighter? I doubt it but that is my asking price.

I really dig this stuff, started out at the local Dragstrip at 6 months old with Mom packin me around in her arms while she backed Dad into the water box and squeezed VHT down for him to roll into. Some of my earliest memories are of me being passed around to their friends for just a few minutes at a time while they were going rounds and becoming lifelong friends with those peoples kids before we were ever even close to grade school age. Almost 44 now and still remember the sound of Dads Camaro leaving the line at 9K or 9,500 and seeing the whole undercarriage as he broke the beams. I was crushed when he sold that one. I was 7 years old and he had enough of driving semis for someone else,so he let it go to buy his first cab over and flatbed. It evolved into a lucrative trucking company and just one more reason I hate 18 wheelers. On a brighter note, I did pick up a 67 Chevelle SS car last week to go along with the collection.

An I would own 20 more if I just had the time to get them an feel them. There's just not enough time. Time waits on noone. So we have to enjoy it to its fullest every day we have on this earth. There are UNGODLY amounts of classics out there. Last November I bought a 55 Chevy 210 2 door post that was in a barn since 1973. I took it to a guy 3 months ago to get roadworthy...I drove it home today! MY boss has around 40 project cars INCLUDING 7 GTO JUdges....real PHS Judges! One of them is going to the resto shop next week...1971 Judge...one of 357 that year....that same shop is working on his black 70 Judge right now...should be done in 3 or 4 months....nut and bolt.

Thank you for the adventure and seeing some amazing cars ! I have been wanting a 1957 Chevy Belair 2 door hardtop every since one of my uncles had one ! That has been one of my favorite cars next would be a 1966 Ford Fairlane 2 door hardtop ! I had one until my sister had a wreck in it and totaled it ! Next would be a 1968 Dodge Dart 2 door hardtop ! Again I had one but my mom had a wreck in it and totaled it ! All of these cars had a V8 in them ! My first car was a 1962 American Motors Rambler Classic with a six banger in it with 3 on the tree 4 door ! Right now I have a 1954 International 1/2 ton pick up with a Silver Diamond 6 with 3 on the tree ! A 1/2 Chevy pick up ! A 1957 Willy's Jeep Station 4 x 4 with a Super Hurricane flathead 6 in it !

Man, I know where 69 Chevelle is surrounded by pine trees it's been parked since 1979 and it's super complete... And in relatively good shape...seeing as it's been parked under a lot of pine trees that whole time. But at least it's had all the windows in it and all been rolled up so the interior ain't too bad and everything's there. And it's an SS396 with a Muncie 4-speed all still there! (Somebody already stole the rallye gauge cluster, go figure). But it's just sitting out there rotting. Also has 2 68 Malibus parked next to it. and next to those there's a 69 roadrunner that's been parked out there since 1980..... And it is also complete (although rusty, like most Chrysler's are out here in Virginia). anyway don't mean to go on a long rant but I've been hoping and praying for years that somebody would drag these cars out of there. All the people that used to know about them are dead or too old to mess with them so they've kind of been forgotten. and that Chevelle is a great candidate for a resto. It's pretty solid, all blue with a black vinyl top. If anything I'd like to see someone at least get them out of there...... Because they'll eventually become one with the Earth. 🤦‍♀️ If you know anybody around Gloucester county, Virginia that'd be interested in these cars send them my way I'll take them right to them.

Wow that Blue C10 with the Step Side Bed on it, I'd love to restore that thing, I seen that it was smashed in the front passenger side, but I'd still kill to have that truck tho, I've been wanting one for SOOOOOOO Long to build and They just cost so much anymore :(

Even though I'm a Mopar guy I hate to see cars like this go to waste cuz from the looks of some of them they were salvageable at one point it's a shame that they sit out there and rot away
