Carlee and I spend the afternoon exploring an old car collection in the woods. You'll see forgotten classic cars, muscle cars and even a HEMI in the barn! Follow along as we look at the rusty, crashed and mangled classic cars, which include a trio of 1966 Dodge Chargers, a couple of Ford Torino, several Dodge and Plymouth four door sedans, a couple of old dirt track cars, a pair of '57 Chevys and more! We decode two of the Chargers, which had their original Chrysler Certicard still in the pocket on the radiator support. So cool! Don't miss the barn, which has all sorts of parts stashed away for safe keeping.
To see the full video on the dragster we pulled out of these woods, click here: • Front Engine Dragster ...

I would grab that old Goodyear raised white letter whitewall polyglass tire at 2:16! I don't ever remember seeing one of them before! The Car with the stripe was a 72/73 Torino Sports roof, the Belvedere was a 63, The red Charger had a set of 68 GTO bucket seats in it! The red Torino is a 1972, it would be cool if you could combine the sports roof Torino with the red 72 as its the less desirable standard roof. The Royal Lancer is a cool find! The Satellite is a 70, Of all of the cars the 55 or 56 Royal Lancer with the 392 Hemi transplanted into it would be the BOMB!

Hangin with the kids is the best...in a yard full of old cars, even better! My daughter and I used to do the same thing. Now she's 19, and moved onto big girl things. But, I have my 11 year old son...jackpot. We're doing things all over again : ) Can't wait for this quarantine thing to end. Stay well everyone.

The GTX is a 1970. '68s had the round marker lights on the fenders just like the Roadrunners and Chargers. '69 had the rectangle ones like that car does, and in '70 they raised the lower center part of the grill and it was flat across the top like that one. '69 grills had even spacing across the front.

Used to be an old salvage yard in South Carolina off US 25, maybe around the town of Edgefield? I remember people saying the old man that owned the yard wouldn't sell anything to anyone. So the cars stay there with some pretty big trees growing out of them. Many 1940s and 1950s cars. As I recall, this was in the mid 1980s, and it was a pretty large yard.......

Interesting video. I'd do the same thing if i came across all this stuff. Cars deteriorate badly when out to the weather, but there's still a lot of parts that could be salvaged. I have a 48 Packard I saved from the crusher a number of years ago. It sits under a carport to keep some of the weather off it. I wash it a couple times a year and polish the chrome. It 'll never run again, but cleaned up pretty well and doesn't look too bad. It makes for good "yard art."

Yeah, it's tough to think that these cars were once totally functional and/or fixable. Most of them were just considered "junk cars", which is definitely hard for "young" guys like me to understand. I believe that just about anything is fixable, but back when these cars were parked, it was totally normal to junk a car because of a fender bender or a fairly simple mechanical problem.

It's so nice to see you with your daughter at the old cars😃👍 it's even so importand and good when the youngsters & next generations could become a nice feeling for these amazing cars, soo importand junk/salvage yards & the big History of "The Big 3"...😊 I really really hope, that in USA the people and owners of yards with classic cars save the cars & places where you could still find these cars. It's soo importand for the future for restore & build cars. --> EVERY CRUSHED CLASSIC CAR IS A BIG LOOSE & DESTRUCTION OF THE AMAZING LIFESTYLE & HISTORY OF CLASSIC CARS. (& every crushed classic car is also a loose about the nice, great history of "The Big" 3 & "The American way of drive" I think you've a feeling for it & you know about that the most cars at yards/places like this are mostly restorable & have potential to save it😋 I'm from germany, Bavaria (southernmost part of germany...only ~5 mls to Austria... i'm living near "Bodensee"☺️) And i wrote 2 comments to you at another Video of you about places like this, did you see it???🤔 But I can tell you about how bad it is for a car guy like we are, when there aren't yards & places like this 😓... At germany you couldn't find places like this with old, junked classic cars & that is very very sad & hard when you like that..when you restoring classic cars....& when you like so amazing places like junk/salvage Yards shown in this or another Videos of you.😏 I wish i life at USA!🇺🇸 You could find me every day at junk yards Like this😋😅😂 i'm not a really "german guy"...my Lifestyle is mostly an "American Lifestyle" & my heart is pumping for US cars 🇺🇸😋...I wish i life at USA, at best at Arizona or something else like that, then i could find old cars to restore. But so i've to talk with people like you via Internet and I wish i was also there to make projects with people like you. Find old cars at places like this for restore and save it. I found a 67 Chevy Caprice/Impala 4 Door Hardtop located at Ohio USA via Internet after a big search by myself. I was looking for very different Cars from all US makers, mostly 4 Doors especially 4 Door Hardtop's before I got this one. I found, bought & imported it all by myself. And now i'm still restoring it with my 70 years old father 😊 i'm 34 & thought to make a father son Project. Because I think you know how nice it is to make a project like this with the father, the daughter or son. Then it's much more than only "a Car", this make very very nice memories😃🍀 I think many fathers with sons or daughters are saveing cars even because they're not really looking about the "business thing" to make win with sale classic cars. And so they're often save cars what a Garage or something else like that could not save because it's often not a good business when many old cars are not worth so much. And the "family projects" save cars which aren't worth much Money, but worth to restore and save it for history...and a car model what you couldn't find anymore because they wasn't worth many Money, the family projects often save other car Models which are worth about their history too. I hope you and your daughter will make projects and save cars from the places like this, i Hope you'll enjoy it! Good Luck😃🍀 A little question; So you sale parts or whole cars what you could find at places like this??? Because I think you could help me/us a lot about the project of the 67 Caprice restoration ☺ I Hope you'll answer & tell me about that question PLEASE ☺ THANK YOU VERY MUCH 🍀

That is great! I've had lots of great father/son projects with my dad and hope to have many with my kids. They are definitely much more than just old cars...the memories mean so much. I wish you the best of luck with the '67 Caprice. Most of the stuff that buy and sell are complete cars. Most of the parts that we buy are either used on our project cars, or stashed away for future use.

Next to that Red Torino was 1956 or 1957 Royal Lancer and that could have a Dodge Red Ram Hemi or Poly engine in it, if a poly you can change the heads and pistons and have a Hemi Engine

Thanks for the info Michael! I actually just bought a 1955 Dodge 270ci Hemi for one of our old dragsters. Should be pretty cool.

The 6-71 blower was never on a "Cat", they were on a Detroit Diesel 71 series, meaning 71 cu. inches per cylinder and on an inline 6 cyl.

Detroit diesels got painted many colors, the likely donor of that Roots blower...by the size, maybe a 6or8-71?

For sure a 6-71. The GM factory 8-71 blowers were a different looking rig. They were only fit to the GM 8-71 engines which were V8's not inline engines, so those blowers fit in the valley of the V8 block. Aftermarket racing blowers are custom built that look like a 6-71 but are larger, and called an 8-71.

Appears to be a 392 brother. 1957 or '58. **never mind, you got it. 👍👍 Now GO BUY IT. A decent engine, able to turn over & run .. in Dallas, Texas is $5k obo. That one .. not so much. If treated as a 392 core .. .. $1500 would be a great buy. Per se. Give or take 500 dollars. The crank, heads, block, valve train, & incidentals would get that parted out.

We'd like to buy the Hemi to rebuild for Jim's dragster. The 354 we got with the dragster was badly blown up and probably not fixable, so this 392 would be a pretty straight forward rebuild for it. I'm hoping to work out a deal to buy it.

I'm thinking that yellow blower is a GMC unit from a Detroit two stroke diesel, 'strokers', by their very design, need a blower to function, not just to enhance performance. BTW, check out Cold War Motors in Alberta, Scott and his team of agents dragged a '60 Plymouth Fury out of a field and that is now well on its way to completion.
