I have a 2011 ford F150 with almost 200,000 miles on it and Ford has covered things I didn't expect them to. My rear diff was binding in sharp turning. They changed the fluid. Now 20,000 miles later I haven't had another problem. I didn't think a fluid change would do anything, but it fixed it, and it was free.

I've been a mechanic for 15 years and if you want them to fix that sensor under warranty. You need to fix that transfer mount and drive shaft. Because if they see those parts broken they will Assume the sensor was broken at the same time as the other parts

Jeep won't do it either. We took our jeep Cherokee trailhawk to the sand dunes and had a 4wd failure after driving through shallow water and they refused to fix it. Funny it's "trail rated" and they advertise it on tv off road and going through water, but won't honor their warranty when it fails.

Why don't you just go to Whitmoyer?

If you call Chevy and explain it to them just like you did to ford, they would tell you it's within the warranty claim as well. Upon full inspection underside the vehicle they can see heavy off-road use and will constitute the refusal of a warranty claim

This probably been said already, but there is a HUGE difference in talking to someone about an issue on the phone and then what the mechanic actually sees in regards to a warranty claim. Your call to Ford was meaningless.

I would definitely contact another dealer or GM directly. That sensor should definitely be covered.

I'd like to hear what the Ford dealership would say if you said "It looks like the wire got hung on something because it's obviously been pulled several inches." Maybe they would do it anyway as good customer service, maybe they would also say that clearly isn't a factory defect. But then there's the argument to be made that a top of the line off road model shouldn't have been designed in a way where the wire hangs down so a little limb or something can damage it. The fact is when it comes down to it the warranty covers defects, not damage from external sources. You make it sound like it just quit working but you've clearly shown it got caught on something. That said, things like this are at the dealership's discretion. They can be jerks and go by the exact wording of the warranty or they can choose to provide good customer service. In my opinion they made the wrong decision, one that likely caused that particular dealership to lose a new Silverado sale.

Started following this channel from seeing him on Mikes channel but lately it’s all crying about neighbors, dealerships, broken parts after totally beating on your truck. Had high hopes for the channel but the drama is not for me. ✌🏼

One of the guys on the ZR2 Facebook page had that issue where they said off-road not covered. He showed them one ZR2 advertisement from Chevrolet with the truck jumping and they fixed the issue.

I have a 2000 Silverado z71… 187000 miles.. only thing that’s ever gone out was fuel pump.. that’s it in 21 yrs.. still runs smooth Only truck I’ll buy again is a Chevy because of its reliability

My 2018 Colorado has 80000 kms and not a problem. I use it for hunting and pulling a trailer with my JD compact tractor.

I’ve taken my non zr2 Colorado off-road quite a few time at AOAA I haven’t been out to raush creek yet I’m surprised that the wheel speed sensor got pulled out like that you should look at the rear shock relocation kit for the back if I knew had to weld i would’ve done one

Better get those gears for 37's... then save up for the front beefy axel shafts. I think your trucks setup with 37's and high mark flare will be 🔥 🔥.

Manufactures have been denying warranty work like that for decades bud, you even have video proof you "off road the truck" no way they are fixing that. Your undercarriage shows signs of off roading too you need to clean underneath. Manufactures don't build cars to do what you do on a regular basis.

I would contact a “General Motors Warranty Zone” rep, and let this dealership know that the dealership, and the service department are choosing openly to deny warranty work, to try and claim your business as $$$ profit! That after repairing under warranty, they also bill the customer extra!

First off you never should have told them you were off-roading you wanted to see how they were going to react you should have took it in for a normal warranty fix and acted like you had no idea how it happened and they definitely would have fixed it for you under warranty I'm sure. But I see what you're getting at if they stand behind their product or not when it is a four-wheel drive pickup! But I hope it all works out. 👍🤘

It's funny that these manufacturers advertise their products doing off road in mud snow beach climbing to the top of mountains ! Saying our brand is sooo tough, and and when you do go off road not even going to the extreme like they advertise and something breaks they go oh we won't fix that cuz you took it off the pavement on to dirt and broke it. And they won't tell you that till after you bought it and spent $50- to over $100 grand. I miss the life time warranty that Dodge had years ago. And always repaired it and never asked what happened. Those were the good old days when manufacturers use to properly stand by their American made products. Now it's seems a lot is made in Mexico especially Chevy products ie trucks! 👎😳

GM, as like all other vehicle manufacturers will not cover a damaged part under warranty. You told the Ford guy the wheel speed sensor stopped working. If you told him the speed sensor harness was damaged and it stopped working he 2 would have told you it's not covered. Look at it a different way, if you went off road and got a dent in the fender, that's damage. Would you think that also should be covered under warranty?

I'm only a Chevy fan over their Corvette and Camaro, their trucks are good but like Mike i'm a Ram guy. I do have a 2020 SS Camaro and it's my pride and joy.

Thats not the half of it! I bought a Dodge truck, had a rattle, the frikin dealer puts a guy with hearing aids to find the rattle on the job. Three catalytic converters and a shock later I've had my Dodge for 23 years so far!

Wish they did that on my 2017 250.blew,they sent me to he'll 375 miles past my warranty! Sad because my 2011 f150 5.0 still going strong 175k miles later

The dealer refused it or GM did? I had a similar warranty issue where I was refused by the dealer. I called the 800 number on my owners guide and the next day got a phone call from the dealer saying to bring my truck in!

That is absolutely ridiculous that they don't cover that. Warranty is such a brittle thing now days. It seems if you do anything to the vehicle or do anything with the vehicle that they don't like, they deny you. I have a 2022 Colorado ZR2, I hope nothing like this happens to mine because I am a frequent hunter. But whenever I get a new truck, I'm going to try to get a Raptor. Great video as always.

If the sensor fails yes its covered. If debri hits it due to off road and fails the sensor no they won't. Not a failed sensor. If you run over a nail will the tire manufacturer cover it under warranty? No

Your forgetting about $2-3000 to re-gear the differentials to accommodate the 37s. They will cause a significant power loss without proper gears.

A lot of dealers that refuse to honor warranty repairs are all ready in hot water with GM over warranty abuse. It could actually be the dealer itself that tis being watched.

Hell nah. Chevrolet denied that? What happens if something else happened to the truck? Maybe a transmission cooler line gets snagged and breaks? Nah. That right there makes me uneasy about warranty on any of their vehicles. That’s making me lean towards the Super Duty instead of 3500 HD.

I do not remember a warranty exclusion for breakage during use off road. They definitely should cover this.

What it all boils down to is...... you don't tell them squat! They don't need to know where you were when the malfunction appeared. Low miles and still under the coverage time and mileage and that's all the information they need. FIX IT.

I had an issue close to this about 3years ago and Chevrolet wouldn’t cover so I sold my truck and bought a Ford F-250 then I took my wife’s ss Camero back to Hendrick chev to put new break pads on so then did and after two weeks they starting squeaking so I took it back to dealer and service manager handed me a pepper saying they are suppose to make that sound so I ask him to go on the lot and get any one to let’s see if it makes the same squeaking sound he said no then I ask him if people had dumb ass tattooed to there head when they walk in lol so now my wife drives a Lexus and nobody beats Lexus service dept I promise y’all that

they all claim bumper to bumper, but they all play games when you actually go to do it.. Best bet is to go to another Dealer.

I have had several issues under warranty with GM products that they have not taken care of...I won't buy GM products any more.

Ford will warranty pretty much any suspension parts as long as the lift was installed properly I.E. pinion angles alignments and such.

I work in the auto biz. As long it was not tangled and that was the caused of the damage, GM should had covered it.

As a guy that works on cars and trucks often I'd pit money on that wire getting pulled out during decompression of the suspension off the jump. Probably made a connection still for awhile and with the extra tension normal driving could have finally broke a wire or hurt the sensor. I could be wrong but I'd also be willing to bet even if ford saw that video of the jump and it was over 6 months ago they would also void your warranty for just about anything. Knowing it was jumped that is...

Look up gm full size rear abs issues.. there's a recall with the wire harness and or sensors.. I know you have a zr2 but I believe it's a mfr issue.
