Just left Thailand as a person of color from the states and can't tell you how much I second Jabril's sentiments on not feeling judged or biased in Thailand. It was a very fresh breath of air compared to some places I travel here in the states and get strange looks for just walking around. Mostly smiles and positive greetings in Thailand. Definitely suggest it as a great place to travel for all.

Jubril, another good video. I retired here in Thailand. I've been to Chang Mai, but I live in Khon Kaen, and Chang Mai is my favorite city. Everything you're saying in this video is true! Folks, don't sit there thinking about moving, just DO it. You have ONE life, take advantage of it. Thailand is a great place to live and retire. As for your visa. Go to the embassy/consulate at home and get a 60 day visa. You'll be good for 60 days and can extend once you're here in Thailand. There is a multiple entry visa, as well. Honestly, doing the "visa run" to other countries is one of the things I love about living here. Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Laos, are just some of the countries you can "run" to. All those places people dream of going to while sitting at home, are EASILY accessible. The best part? Flights over here are CHEAP! Make that move and safe travels!

He Shoots, He Soars - Photography and Travel the problem is too many people are moving to CM and it's losing its charm. There's a backlash against digital nomads and Chinese tourists. Prices are going up now, songtaews asking triple fares if they take you at all, traffic is a nightmare and then there's the smoke. The next recession will take care of many of the digital nomads and Chinese tourists but the big issues of air quality and infrastructure remain unsolved. Many long term expats I know in CM are moving on now.
@glb_tvlr7 жыл бұрын
I knew that was going to happen. Prices go up more when they see me, because every farang is rich. I'm here in Korat and they're building it up, too! Probably will be the next Bangkok. Many folks I know are moving to Vietnam and Cambodia. It's only a matter of time before those get taken over, too!

From another native Chicagoan (ws)...so proud of you. Just subbed your channel. Thank you for reaching outside the boundaries and sharing your experiences. This world is a much bigger place than some can even imagine. The world outside of mag mile and north LSD includes diverse and beautiful cultures, which is hard for some to contemplate (or for others to even acknowledge). You get off the red line at 95th or the green line at Austin and it's hard to see that truth.

First things first, I've checked about 6-7 different videos on Thailand and you by far are the most informative, down to earth real life, authentic advice, that you could even give your homeboy on a everyday basis. Thnak you for this. I'm visiting Thailand for a month with my girlfriend and my Muay Thai coach and his wife. Granted, my girlfriend is Spanish my coach and his wife are both white, and me. I'm black. So hearing you say how its okay in thailand being of color and how you had no issues and saw other brothers around. Def made me feel a lot better about my situation. Thanks homie def appreciate it. If you could do more videos like this on other major cities in thailand that would be dope and much appreciated.

Great video, nice advises! But: 1. A US driver license is valid in Thailand (only US, rest of the world need international license), but you need to have a motorcycle license to drive a motorcycle in Thailand. Ive been stopped many times in Thailand like you said, but I easily got out with no fines, and even got sent to the police stations in Pattaya and Chiang Mai, but in less than a minute I got friendly with the police chiefs and left with a smile :) 2. The rent prices you mentioned are valid for Bangkok, but are a bit expansive in Chiang Mai, a nice 2 bed apartment should cost around 15000 Baht a month, but with a yearly lease (sometimes 6 months). 3. I hope you tour outside of Chiang Mai with the heavy motorcycle, northern Thailand is a the most beautiful place on earth! I met tourist who rented a heavy motorcycle and never left Chiang Mai.

Brenda Penny ok I understand. I moved to Thailand from Ferguson Missouri. The violence in the USA is mostly concentrated in large urban areas or in the southwest where a lot of Central American gangs (MS-13)have entered the country illegally. It's pretty safe if you avoid certain areas: south side of Chicago, West Philly etc...

Just by reading these comments just makes me want to leave Amarica faster! So many black people are just fed up with America and your lies and your racism and just outright disrespect. Luckily I live in Seattle where I don't have to face that garbage all the time. But just thinking about black people who live in the south it just makes my blood boil

Awesome and informative man. Great job on this one! I seem to roll into the best cities thanks to you. I'm in love with Medellin after my first visit and after a trip to Chiang Mai last year for Songkran, I only look forward to going back and spending more time there. Keep up the great work, the awesome travels, and next time you fly into LAX, if I'm working, I'll hit you up sooner than the last time.

This is one of the most informative videos I've seen on Thailand. May I ask if tipping is appropriate at sit down restaurants? I'd love to see more videos like this with the awesome details. Glad we found you :)

Glad you liked it. Tipping is not mandatory but they appreciate it every time.
