I lived in an apartment like that and there’s days/nights I miss that view but I had to buy sunblocking curtains because it got HOT lolol even in the winter because I had a west facing unit so I got the evening sun. It was beautiful but brutal for a couple hours a day lol

my bf lives in a 1bd that’s $1195/mo and i live in a 1bd that’s $1595 (balcony, 1 block away from 606 bike trail) …. the “1bd under $2k is unheard of” is just wrong … both of our buildings are historic courtyard apartments with bigger units and way more character/charm than what’s being shown in this video.

@@rrw_18 we’re both in the logan square area, but avondale, ukrainian village, humboldt park, and other amazing neighborhood on the NW side have much more affordable housing. i’m a 15 min walk (through beautiful historic district) to two blue line stations that lead straight into the loop (just 5 stops away). i also have some friends in the irving park area that love their apartments as well.

White boxes. Why not ever show some apartments with character and maybe some vintage charm? Not everyone wants the cold cookie cutter highrise. Also would be great to see some condo buildings!

Question for ppl who live in big cities / apartment buildings like this: is there no way to open the windows? That feels surprising to me cause I always have the fresh air flowing in the warm months. If so, does that ever bother you or do you just get used to it? Is the indoor air stuffy? K ty ❤️

most apartments in a high rise will have one or two windows that 'crack' open at the bottom of the window. I have not seen any apts in Chicago that have windows that open like single family homes. The windows are not an issue and you get plenty of air flow being high up.
