I absolutely love that Chicago track. as we saw on Saturday in the Xfinity race, it’s such an amazing race track for those cars when the weather is good. All they need to do is stop kowtowing to the TV networks, and start the race at 1 pm in the afternoon so they don’t get the rain and it would be the best race of the year. There’s no NASCAR race that I look forward to more, than the Chicago Street race. It’s phenomenal. 😍

Really tough end to a day that looked and felt like it could be special. I really love this race, but Nascar has GOT to get their head out of their asses on the start time. This race could have been over before the rain ever arrived and SVG and AJ could have been dooking it out for a win instead of Last Place!

No disaster here, I was yelling at the screen during Bowman's run into victory lane. So fun to watch and getting in the playoffs just iced the cake.

Things could be worse the Fords pitting and going a lap down in stage 1 was baffling. The track was nowhere near enough. Fortunately NASCAR gives people multiple opportunities to get back into a race…..

SVG pit stop was terrible, 1st to 4th and maybe he wouldn't have been hit. NASCAR should introduce a rev match gearbox for drivers that can't heal and toe down shift, it's embarrassing to watch drivers locking their rears in a straight line

It's been happening all year the slower pit stops. Rev match works amazing on some road cars I've owned. I can't do it any better.

How don't you blame Briscoe?....you're kidding mate!...He was side sliding 100 yds or more out of his depth. SVG was doing it perfect at that stage already won stage 1.

I don't blame Briscoe because it was a racing incident. In those conditions things happen. Yes Briscoe made a driving error and was the cause for the incident. But the guy Hydroplaned his car. I also watched his on board camera and you can hear the engine cut out as soon as he starts to slide. He had no control and was just a passenger. SVG did nothing wrong he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Unfortunately Shit happens

NASCAR chose to double file restart in way worse conditions than what they ran the rest of the race in during single file restarts. Some of it is on Briscoe but some people are acting like it was intentional. It was tough to race in those conditions even AJ & SVG were saying it was too much! Also Briscoe is a pretty good road racer on top of that.

SVG driving within himself wasn’t complaining about the conditions. Without other people’s mishaps would have had the clean sweep. Reflect back on COTA driving away for a definite win before a second last lap caution and we know what happened then. Fact is at this stage of his NASCAR career his resume should read four Xfinity wins and two Cup wins

If any blame is played it’s the pit crew (Trackhouse) as SVG went from 1st to 5th and back in the pack with wet weather. It is what it is.

@@powder4360 I think you are right, I was listening to his radio before the stop, he was advocating for “Non-competitive stops”, he thought it was way to wet on pit lane for racing.

Man that was so disappointing. SVG was on his way to winning that race again. So disappointing he got taken out by someone else’s accident. He just hasn’t had any luck since Chicago last year when it comes to the cup series.

One last thing. Sorry to hear you have had some negative interactions in the discussion. I have seen some of SVG fan base described as Toxic. I just think they are super passionate. They also have all seen what he can do over a very long period. They probably get frustrated because people stateside are still new to him. Not making excuses for poor behaviour and don’t get off the SVG train. It’s coming -Nate

It's his fanbois I cannot stand. I'd describe them more as obnoxious. They have some chip on their shoulder that takes them beyond being excited for their driver and his success so far, and into overdrive where they make a bunch of rude asinine comments about him "embarrassing" cup drivers and making fools of them. Kind of like how they really got off on the whole doing a burnout right in Austin Hill's face, which I thought was very poor sportsmanship. I like the guy just fine, but for these fanbois I cannot wait for Gibbs, Larson, Reddick and C-Bell to close the gap up and start stomping him on road and street courses.

@@TheSaturnVin all honesty, it’s going both ways. NASCAR fans were too quick to comment on his longevity in the sport and as soon as he showed the consistency he is capable of on anything but ovals, the oval track critics were too keen to say he’s shit on the ovals. Your guys are talented obviously and getting better with the left & right racing turns on the same track and SVG is improving on the ovals. Cheers mate 🍻🍻🍻🇦🇺

@@TheSaturnV I understand that. As I mentioned they are passionate and know what he can do in a car and get frustrated when he doesn’t get the respect her deserves. It’d be no different than trying to explain to someone how good Kyle Larson is. Plenty of people stateside have already written SVG off on ovals but realistically could not have done much more given his experience.

We are all for passion. SVG has been great but I do wonder how his super car fans are going to handle him running 20th-30th on a lot of ovals in cup because it’s coming.. guaranteed. It’s going to take him time to get better on them. A cup field is far closer in competitiveness and talent than Xfinity.

@@KauligNation yeah I think they are. There are some pretty big follower/support groups on Facebook and such and 99% understand the learning curve he’s going through. I’d argue they are more sympathetic than fans who ate only just discovering his talent.

NASCAR just got to start earlier. Im sure they will learn that lesson this time. Id like the race to stay and im no street coarse fan. Svg needs this race for points especially if he goes to cup

You have to take into account the zebra crossing is right there. Getting a loss of traction in the wet on that shit is like driving on an oiled sheet of glass.

chicago is the best track nascar has. its the reason the fan base has grown by two countries worth. just get better tires the wet tires they have are a joke.

I said the same thing in the forums on the day. If SVG didn’t lose all those positions on Pitt Road, he wouldn’t have been in that position to get hit by Briscoe anyway. The team stuffed up and put him in that position.

I have a question for you guys. I’m an SVG Trackhouse fan, but I do also pull for AJ and Kaulig, so I try to be fair. Since the crews are coming out of Trackhouse, I assume we all believe the 1 and 99 get the best crews and Kaulig cars get “what’s left”. Here is my question, do you guys think SVG is getting preferred treatment inside Kaulig? TH doesn’t have an Xfinity team so the best pit crews should be available. It just seems to me that SVG is the “A” car, AJ is the “B” car. What do you guys think? Also, as for start time, I suspect (but don’t know) the time was driven by NBC. I can think of 2 reasons for it, and I bet there are more, one NBC has an Indy Car race on first, NBC needed time for that to run and finish, and two the later the airtime the better the ratings.
