Long time local resident checking in. Papa Del's is as good as everyone says and probable a bit more. However, you should NOT expect it to taste like a 'normal' excellent deep dish pie you can get in Chicago. It is identical in its construction but it is a unique taste that I have not eaten anywhere else. They make their own sausage in house. You owe it to yourself to make sure that it's one of the ingredients you get on your pie. As a testament to their skill, after at least a thousand of their pizzas that have graced my flan-hole, every single one was exactly like the others. The consistency is astounding to me. NO BAD PIES from this place, folks.. ever. We have a Rosati's and a Giordano's for those who need a true and proper Chicago pizza but Papa Del's gets my call 99 times out of 100 when I want a great pizza. Thin, pan, or stuffed - doesn't matter. You're going to love it.

Is the best pizza I’ve ever had. And on the jukebox since I was 18 years old the first song I heard the one on Green Street the old Steak ‘n Shake building. Was a song called fame David bowie. No I almost almost 69 years old Been in North Carolina now for 14 years south of Raleigh. Thank you for making a pizza

I will take the original Lou Malnatis (in Lincolnwood) anytime over any deep dish served by any other establishment in the Chicago area. Sorry that wins as the best deep dish period. And for most unique, try Chicago Pizza and Ovengrinders... right across the street from the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.

I have had both their deep dish and thin and both are outstanding, imho one of the top 4 in Illinois and I would say close to 1sr or 2nd next to Lou Malnati

Indiana borders the east side of Chicago near the Calumet river. The horseshoe casino in Hammond Indiana is literally right on the border. Hegewisch also border Hammond. I think people forget that

Saying a Champaign pizzeria is "Chicago's Best" is silly. But Pops' pizza is as good or better than anything in Chicago propper. I worked both at Del's and in Chicago pizzerias and i can vouch that the attention to detail and quality at Papa Del's are tops.
